Has anyone purchased this and is it worth it? I am in a position to get it but thought id ask around to see if it's useful in it's current state.

No, do not get it.

It will get you longer range zoom, but the picture is so grainy its almost not worth it.

Save for the advanced cap module.

Gotcha, thanks a lot, thats quite a bit of GXP to sink into something of questionable return. Cap mod it is!

It's like having the image you already see blown up twice as big, so it's pretty grainy. It does allow for more precise aiming because it slows down your traversing and it really does enlarge what you see, but it's not where everyone wants it (including the devs). They've said that the reason it isn't clearer is because with current cryengine mechanics it would cut your framerates in half (because of how the engine renders 2 windows) so they're working on a better way to code it that will make it less grainy without killing your framerate.
