Much as I'm generally annoyed by light mechs, preferring to pilot things of assault-class, the Jenner is fine. Random pugs are typically bad at the whole team aspect of this game. Typically I play with one friend on skype or teamspeak, who prefers light mechs. Regardless of if the rest of the team is in any agreement for strategy, my buddy will go out and pester something big until it chases him back to me (and then we eat it), or he scares off anything too small for me to easily draw a bead on until it's out far enough that shots are easy to place and I'm not spinning in place.

Are you going to have a somewhat frustrating time smacking a Jenner from your big derpy Atlas? Yeah, usually. But that's not your job. And from the hotseat in an Atlas, Awesome, or maybe a Catapult is the only place I can see someone particularly having trouble with the little buggers.

They're fine.

(And the most fun of the somewhat exploitative min-maxing strategies have been dealt with. Which is why heat generation is so silly high compared to source material, and why we have these bizzare engine size restrictions... Except for the Gaussapult. But 9/10 the mech jock can't aim worth fretting over).

So I made a streak cat because I was so fed up with warping jenners circling around without taking any visible damage from my fire. And trust me, I'll use streak in every freaking mech I use until netcode is fixed. It's so satisfying to see a jenner pilot whining after he's been killed - it's like they just realized there's something there that can hit them even with lagshield ON.

And about Cat A1, exploiting? I'm using six missile slots for six ssrm 2's. Hurray, that's an exploit then! It's mainly a mid-range (270m) support mech, any capable pilot can rip it apart in 1vs1 situation with his mech. Plenty of weaknesses.

It's not like I'm filling machinegun slots with gauss rifles, hohhoh, who could even think that silly option.

Let me see using a long range support mech as a brawler - yeah makes sense.
using 6 x 5 damage weapons that 80% of the time will automatically hit a centre torso - yup sounds like a exploit.
Being able to mount a 30 damage alpha while maintaining high speed, max armour and enough HS not to worry about overheat - yup exploit.
Being able to pretty much take ANY mech in a 1 v 1 battle - exploit.

I understand peoples fustration with jenners as people are exploiting the p**s poor netocde and lack of collissions but that does not make the streak any less of a exploit.

Live with the fact you are using a cheesy mech, use whatever justification that gets you through the day if it helps.

Ive stopped using Jenners until they fix the net code, with my Aussie lag and bad netcode it felt like i was cheating, so expect to see me in Cat for a while.

(Its the mikey mouse ears the Cats make me laugh.....)

My current gripe with the jenner is that I do not see why anybody would choose another light mech over the jenner. It's just better in almost any regard, at least those that count in a match.
I don't think that anything needs nerfing per se, but they need to bring light mechs more in line with each other.

The Jenner is fine, it just needs to be...
Errm I mean, it often feels easier to kill an Atlas than a Jenner. Sometimes this is due to hitdetection.
But even when tripping comes back don't expect lights to be easy kills.

I really like going commando every now and then, and that video posted here earlier is a good example of the dangers of piloting a light mech. (My video lol)

In that video I was really lucky every time I tripped, made my heart beat faster.
That's how it should feel like when piloting lights exciting, because you know that every second could be your last.

Surely I do that. Just like playing Jenner resembles activating hidden Easymode why not make my life easier as well?

Catapult A1 - weaknesses:
- it's easy to destroy missile Cat's weapons ("arms")
- cockpit easy to hit
- SSRM target locking takes 3-4 secs - cover using enemy hard to lock & hit
- max range 270m, weak to LRMs and other long range weapons

Jenner - weaknesses:

- ?????

of the time will automatically hit a centre torso
Just you wait when they implement the possibility to target other parts!

Seriously: I hate the Jenner.
Whenever someone is shooting my back, and i twist and turn and don't see anything.... i know what is is.
It is a tough little mech, and a good one at that. The thing is: it is definitely not imbalanced!
there are really skillfull jenner players out there that know their game, and there are not so skillfull jenner players, who always just run around in circles.
if you are quick yourself, the jenner is not a real problem though B)

p.s.: i'm a commando pilot and i love my tiny ragdoll mech

Just so you know I consider myself a reasonable pilot in my jenner and have been killed a number of times by streak cats, have yet to come close to taking one down, guess all streak cat pilots are just that good.

Catapult A1 - weaknesses:
- it's easy to destroy missile Cat's weapons ("arms")
Should be fully armoured and no eassier to knock out than any other mech
- cockpit easy to hit
Like any other catapult or awesome or hunchback
- SSRM target locking takes 3-4 secs - cover using enemy hard to lock & hit
Enemy using cover to avoid being hit - how terrible if only that affected other weapons as well - Oh wait !
- max range 270m, weak to LRMs and other long range weapons
Like any other brawler with short range weapons !!!

weaknesses: Jenner - ?????

Have to admit the jenner at the moment is also exploiting game mechanics, have never denied it - I just don't try to justify it with poorly thought up weaknesses that really don't exist.
Seriously think about what you are using your streak cat as and you may realise that it outclasses everything else in the game.

Just you wait when they implement the possibility to target other parts!

Can't wait I'm sure streak pilot will massively struggle to get the same amount of kills if they have to rely on targeting specific hit locations.

only trouble i have with jenners is locking on with streaks. seems to take 10x longer to lock on than any other mech. And that with me in a raven. just seems to take an age to lock.

that and having a pack of them on your arse

Begone Troll!

With the new patch, I'm notice that Jenner's are much more fragile. I'm going to give the netcode tweaks credit for this. I retract my suggestion. ;)

(TBH, I was seriously hurting them with a small laser last night. Took one out completely with a volley from my LRMs).

This is a hit detection and small laser balance issue. Fix hit detection and fix small laser damage-per-heat and DPS-per-ton, and the Jenner is no longer OP.
