Hey guys, if you have a minute, I have a question about the engines for the Hunchback 4SP. I currently run a 4SP with out-of-the-box 200 standard and am considering getting a more powerful one. I figured that since pulse lasers (I have 2 MPLs on each arm) are getting more heat in the next update, I might just substitute them for regular medium lasers and get a better engine instead.

:P Not getting an XL, since I want to live and drink beer.

So, engine questions:

1) What speed increase does each increment of 5 produce on the standard engine at 50 tons?

2) How does it affect total heat efficiency (particularly with DHS 2.0/1.4)?

3) What is the most weight-effective engine for the 4SP?

4) Is spending 4 extra tons on the engine is stupid?

Thanks in advance, I appreciate any input.

1. See link
2. See link
3. Really subjective in my opinion it really depends on how you play.
4. No

This is what I run currently.

ML x4
SRM6 x2 (2 tons of ammo)
AMS (1 ton of ammo)
Endo
15 DHS
STD Engine 255
Also peeled a minute amount of armor off the legs.

You could go with a smaller engine and run a few more DHS as there is the space.

see this linkfor engines and well everything else too

Thanks for the file, man.

Can't help but notice that weight and price of the engines are not correct in the file, but speed seems and HS seem to be correct to me.

You are correct. Never paid attention to that part.
