I want the option to camo all my mechs. Wether common, Hero or Founder. Once the unit belongs to me, I want to paint it to my leisure.
Forced Uniqueness is imposed commonality.

Note aside:
F2P? I rather pay a monthly fee than have no say over the way my BattleMechs look. I am seeing several clear disadvantages to the F2P model; and although camo might be the least important, the others are of weight that deserves questioning.

I agree I would rather pay monthly. They should do like EA did with Star Wars old republic. F2P or get a monthly sub that gives you so many credits per month. If you bought enough MC credits to have premium time for a month. It is about 15 bucks. I pay 15 bucks. Then I have enough MC per month to buy mech bays and that would take care of my colors....if they were permantant.

Ugh, this pay-for-paint system is garbage. I can see having to pay (MC or CB) for special camo patterns, or having specialty colors that cost something. But not having a basic paint kit to work with is really irritating. It's something so common to most other games that it sticks out as a really petty move.

I've put more real-world money into this game than I like to think about already. Don't make me pay actual dollars to paint the pretend giant robots that I already paid real money to get. It's insulting.

It's optional.

well it is either that or they will have to start to charge for stuff that actually matter,

I am ok with it and todays sale shows that if you have a little bit of patience you will not have to spend any big dollars on paint and camo.

You didn't have to pay real money for any mech you're going to be painting. It's an F2P game, not a charity. Cosmetic charges are a widely accepted monetisation route for this kind of product. Especially since most players won't be spending money on non-hero mechs, they'll be earning them.
