Gday MWO,

Yeah i said i was gonna leave.
Winge winge winge about my 300ms...
couldnt stay away though - call me weak. Dont care

THE GAME CHANGER:
VOICE COMMUNICATION!!!

CMON people!
Get Ventrilo (Vent), get TeamSpeak3 (TS3), get C3 downloaded and setup.
Dust off your mic or open up your inbuilts or webcam mics!
Voice communication and teamwork COMPLETELY change the game. Even if everone in your group has 300ms... you can still play with voice and teamwork.

The difference cannot be understated.
Less winging more communication.

KGO HAVE FUN! :P

If it is such an important part of the game (which it is), it should be IN the game, and the player should not be "forced" to download, install and use 3rd party programs to fully enjoy the game.

They have planned to implement an ingame voice comunication, in the mean time you have to use any 3rd party voice program you like. By default, we have 2 TS3 server (Comstart NA/EU).

Don't see why people feel forced to download 3rd party programs. TS/Vent/Mumble are not new, they have been used extensively by people playing all sorts of games. Very easy to install, then hop on MWO beta TS and enjoy a fun game, is that easy.

Not convinced with in game voice comm, when I was playing Eve, their in game voice sucked, most people used 3rd party anyways.

Why would you wait for the Devs to implement an in game voice chat? No way is it going to be near as good or reliable as teamspeak or ventrilo. And I really don't get the whole "No ones gonna force me to download TS!" thing, FFS it's not shady **** with a virus in it and it will help you play better and have more fun. Yes, it can be intimidating talking to strangers, but they are all a bunch of laid back gamers who are here for the same thing you are.

Oh come on! WE GOT IT! This topic has been here time and again. YES, TS does improve the game. But not everyone likes it. Not everyone enjoys it. Forcing people into the matter doesn't help!

True...
But almost EVERY game that is played SERIOUSLY uses Vent of TS3. If you wanna play with voice. These are the standards.
The fact that the main part of the client runs WINDOWED makes the use of Vent (4mb) or TS3 (32mb) even EASIER.

Nobody has any excuse NOT to use voice.

You could even use Steam...
Considering either are a fraction of the CLIENT download size, i dont think that they are going to cap your internet.

C3 is actually awesome. It lets you speak in multiple channels at once, and that's going to be *huge* when 8 v 8 comes out.

company commander, primary scout, two lance commanders in one channel, both lance commanders in their own channels with the two guys underneath them. That way you don't have to figure out who you're supposed to be listening to when you're running versatile forces.

However, I've been doing really well playing in groups with no voice. It's cool because it lets you give orders to your team mates as well as any PUGs you pick up. It really helps give the new guys a feeling of inclusiveness that will help them learn the value of teamwork.

Hope so, pugging is such an infuriating, bile producing mode of play as it stands that it is mostly unplayable. Many hundreds are being introduced to a massive LRM stomp at kick off that I think it has to run a lot off.

it should be considered cheating and punished forcefully, team chat should be enabled using C3 computer/slaves, which must be equiped on the mech, lag is bad enough without every pissant running teamspeak

I think that was in H1tler's inaugural speech, pretty much verbatim?

Yes, but that doesn't exactly do much for the 70% of users that never read the forums (based on data from other online F2P games)

Only twice I've dropped with a group on voice communications, though I wasn't left quite as enchanted by the experience as everyone else seems to have been.

Honestly, for me, there been many more disputed and interesting matches on PUGs using only the in-game text chat for coordination; provided that all players are experienced and skilled, there's no reason why anyone would absolutely require voice in order to do well or have fun.
It's a wonderful feature to have, of course, but I don't think anyone should feel pressured to make use of it.

It just happened to a group random team I've dropped with, as well.
Thankfully, we could convince the players on the enemy lances that we were puggers just like them; delivered maybe one or two lines of quick advice.

It was refreshing.
