Did you give up your Assault since DHS 1.4 was announced?

I decided DHS at 1.4 made the Awesome I had be leveling unsupported since it will lose heatsinking and it's always been too hot to run an Assault-level config. I can run almost the same thing in a Medium or trade some weapons for the manuverability of a Light so I am using a Jenner now. I may try a Centurion later, but not the YLW because it lacks hardpoints for a medium.
The reason for the post is that I frequently see teams of over half Lights and Cicadas now and I didn't before DHS 1.4 was announced.

.4 more heat dissipation at the cost of 2 more criticals? Good luck with that.

I pretty much agree with you here. I can't stand watching lights play after my Fatlas has been killed, its not my play style and I just can't see a mech going as fast as they do without a care in the world about running into things. No offence to light pilots as they do a good job, its just not what I like to do. I will send off a email to support asking for a DHS setup CBill refund also.

You will be lucky to fit half the amount of DHS as you would with SHS so you will actually dissipate LESS with DHS vs SHS. That's the problem everyone has. DHSs aren't upgrades anymore, they are downgrades.

This. I'm not too concerned about it.
I seems the devs would let use try 2x, but they've said about a trillion times that 1.4 wasn't necessarily the final number. So I guess the OP can go ahead and sell is Assault and then feel dumb when they change the numbers. It's still a work in progress and people are so short sighted.

Of course that being said I don't generally run assault mechs anyway, because of their inability to run high heat weapons. I don't anticipate moving to them now.

my atlas rs has 42 heat sinks (single) if the full double was aloud, i would hit 44-46. how is that game breaking?
with dhs the way they are, i cant get anywhere near the 42, so why UPGRADE to dhs only to lose heat dissipation.
now my gauss primary mechs will all get better on the other hand, so its a strange toss up that will make the Gauss the must have weapon, more so than now.

Dave - 42 heat sinks WOW. What are you doing some sort of 32kmph 4 er ppc build? In any case, DHS would never match HS at those extreme numbers anyway because you simply cant fit that many, so complaining about the mutliplication factor is pointless. Even at x2 efficiency, 21 DHS would be 63 crit slots.
If you run with 42 heat sinks the only way double heat sinks would be an upgrade is if they were something like x4 efficiency.

Well sadly were all not in Jenner's. I couldn't fit 2 of those upgrades on my Atlas let alone all 3, without gimping every single weapon system.
