This probabley has been accounted for already but just in case it has been overlooked ...
1) More tons of ammo-- more crit space, easier the critical hit chance and thus ammo explosion chance
2) Bigger (XL) engine- more crit space, easier to critical hit
3) AC 20 (massive crit space required) , easier to land a critical hit taking it out
etc etc etc.

More critical space, easier to crit

It is something that we need to wait until we know what they are going to do. Particularly if they are going to allow TACs. All the mechs so far apart from the Awesome have ammo and thus a chance of dieing from a TAC early on.

Yes, as we know nothing about internal damage gameplay mechanics, it's too early to judge.

...I question weather they should be easier to crit? They do require some level of survivability after the armour is breached, surely?
They are big machines that should be able to take damage, rather than blow up at the first hint of internals, are they not?

Just adding to this thread.
Smaller mechs are smaller and should have less critical space
(use level 3 maxtech rules which reduces smaller mech criticals slot numbers)

It is a risk you take running bigger weapons or engines. So if you don't want to risk the damage then don't use them.
