I dont like Armored core, too anime for me. AND since when did mechwarriors pilot bipeds exclusively? there a lot of good quads, and even a tripod...though only one i think, Ares

LordDeathStrike, if I didn't know better I'd think you where purposefully leading people here astray. Almost every post you seem to make concerning the lore and canon of this game is partially wrong - at best. For someone who proffesses to know a lot about BT/MW you seem to know quite little about it.

The Quad 'Mech uses its "arms" for legs which gives these designs some additional stability and maneuverability (such as sidestepping, also known as lateral shift movement). The concept was much maligned for sacrificing the overall versatility of BattleMechs and the early designs, notably the Scorpion and the Goliath, proved flawed, being notoriously difficult to maintain and highly susceptible to breakdowns. It was only around the year 3060 that improved technology led to new quadrupedal 'Mech designs, although the stigma associated with the general concept still lingers. Bipedal BattleMechs remain the vastly more common 'Mech.

There are in fact, quite a few Quad BattleMechs in existance.

the quads can be downright awesome with level 3 rules to allow for turrets. spinning you main gun 360 degrees and going hull down behind a hill gives them a nice edge.

A quad with no rubbish variants? Most bipeds can't claim that.

Yeah, I know I'll have to wait a loooong time for this one. But programming quads probably isn't worth the aggro until there are more of them.

IIRC limited numbers of Gibson-built Goliaths were available to the FWLM in this era, but the Scorpion only got produced after taking Oliver in '57.

I know that they are almost certainly not going to ever be seen in a PC MW title (except that 1 appearance in MW2, and even then they were only pilotable with the hack that opened BA up for the player also)......but they could be cool if done well.

what about 3 leg mechs? they where introduced in the late Mechwarrior collectable click game (that, sadly, I had the bad idea to play for too much time)

Also, the three legged collosus 'mech Ares was just an all around dumb idea. It didn't appear in the series until dark age, and I personally wish it didn't make Canon at all.
