There's nothing BAD about quadrupedal 'mechs.
Although they are different form bipedal.
Quads usually dont have as much weapons as Bipedal mechs, because they dont have guns on arms (because they dont have them ;))
BUT quads have more potential armor (because legs are more armored than arms)
Quads are not able to torso twist
BUT quads are able to move sideways (tis called Lateral movement) also they're able to lower their hull, to make them harder to hit.
Quads have 4 legs that can be shotoff
BUT quads are less susceptable to legging, because they can lose 2 legs and still be mobile, and losing one leg only slightly decreases their mobility and takes away their ability to move sideways

I dont like Armored core, too anime for me. AND since when did mechwarriors pilot bipeds exclusively? there a lot of good quads, and even a tripod...though only one i think, Ares

Do not speak of the mech-that-must-not-be-named. that was a travesty of wizkids' design and the likes of which should never be taken seriously. three legs?... what the **** were they thinking. at least six would have made a bit more sense.

true mech warriors need only 2 legs... i always hated those quads, just as much as "manga style" LAM´s... not my way to go... take a CLOSE look at the shadowcat and bushwhacker, and you know what a mech is ;)

You just had to post the atrocious Ares...*** were Wizkids thinking with this abomination. Gah! I can't fathom this. Three legs????? WHY!!!

I would not mind seeing a quad mech on the battlefield. I would never pilot one, but they would make for good target practice. ;)

Not quite correct. Quads like Tarantula or Sirocco are able to twist their torso, but most of them can't do this. That's right.

i think if they can add quad mechs like Scorpion and Goliath that would be cool. Both of those were copied from the Anime Dougram so they are Unseen but if the devs totally redesign the looks and rename, maybe can happen. Maybe release the other Quads that have been designed in this time period. The devs already got in hot water for using a Warhammer in the reboot trailer. Need to make some sorta Advantage / Disadvantage traits for Quads that make sense, like hull down mode, turrets, sidesteping, bad shaking while moving, can stand on 3 legs but not walk far or fast, cannot go through heavy trees or buildings like a biped, heatsinks in feet x 4, can step over short walls, weak armor on bottom, maybe a stable firing platform while standing, all legs have same armor and structure values. Oh Heck NO, a quad can not walk far with only 2 legs left, more like push itself slowly, with surviving legs, and No Tripod mechs.

I always thought a special purpose mech that was very fast and stable would be a quad scout about 10/15 ton with 1 missle launcher on it back for taggers. Call it "Wolf Bane" its main weapon and defense would be it's stealth and speed, say around 220/230kph. Just a fun thought. Otherwise got to love a Bi-ped.

Quad mechs should make for great artillery.

I think quads would be great ranged artillery. Though I''m picturing the multy legged 'Mechs from Chromehounds that were loaded to the teeth with heavy firepower.

Well the Behemoth is a great artillery piece, and its bipedal.

It's not just the three legs, it is just a sucky mech! And the legs do look really stupid. But anyway, yeah, abomination. They could have done so much better for the first canon Collosal mech! Like made a 135 Atlas III or something, but no no no.

Okay, and the thing with quad mechs is that they are a little more tankish. They often have turrets, and they are nearly impossible to knock over. You can barely leg them. But they don't have the same crushing power usually. There are exceptions.
