I know it is probably inevitable, but I've lost count of how many FPS shooters I gave up on do to hacks like the screenshots below. Is there no way to stamp this out before it gets big? The company that makes this particular one is my bellweather for bailing out, I didn't expect to see them already having MWO hacked... ^_^

What exactly do these screenshots show? I just see blue rectangle overlays over friendly mechs. to be honest, I can do that in paint within 5 minutes... could you provide more information?

I'd rather not encourage anyone to buy this garbage, but basically it is an aiming bot and information hack. The red lettering are enemy mech's info, distance, location, type, etc.

I'd like to see a few videos of this in action. Otherwise, it just looks shopped.

This again?

Yes "hax" exist for everything lucky for us in this game even a "Aimbot" would not give an individual an advantage as this is not a twitch shooter like counter strike or BF. I can easily cockpit a mech without any kind of assistance and with mechs constantly torso twisting (The good pilots anyway) the "Aimbot" wouldnt be able to help the user hit them in the head.

Chances are all any kind of "Aimbot" would do is make a player lazy and sloppy and useless in combat.

It isn't. I wish it was some kind of joke, but it isn't, it's for real.

Mechwarrior is a big deal, and this game will be a big deal at "launch" whether or not the cynics on this board choose to believe that. What'd they have like 50,000 founders? 60,000? For a game with virtually no information released. The point is that there's money in hacking the hell out of it no matter how many users are presently active, however, there aren't necessarily enough active users for PGI to freak out over these hacks yet, or enough users to make these hacks really profitable. I wouldn't worry about them too much until our members really start spiking, and that might not happen for months.

It's a popular program that is available across multiple games, and it was only a matter of time before it got a hold of MWO.

Basically, you'll never stamp out hackers. Hacking in this manner is a result of people simply afraid of challenges and wanting things to be made easier for them. Aside from the outlines giving away position through visually blocking geometry, these systems usually also allow for the ability to have pin-point accuracy on target locations without even aiming.

In other words, you could see Sniper Mechs scoring tons of head shot kills with each alpha strike. Like Snipers in other games, these programs often use Sniper variants because they have powerful, long range, instant-to-target weapons.

As a defenseless consumer to this technology, the best you can do is leave the game at whatever expense it is to you. Even when countermeasures go out, these programs get updated and always get around it.

Why would a hack need blue rectangles around his friends when they already have a blue triangle above their head? Hack-fail. lol

Unfortunately It is not shopped it is real. I filed a support ticket on this program when it first came out. I am praying the Devs have a way to block it or atleast track those using it so that they can be banned. The person who wrote it originaly said he wouldn't write one for this game because he played MWO. I really wish he had stuck to his word instead of grabbing the money.

Anyone one who uses this should be insta banned for life..............................................

ONCE again, hacking ruins games. Maybe the people who make games would wise up and not allow any user change to anything in the game (for injecting, overlay, etc) by making it cloud based gaming. It would also be wise to encrypt and make the memory blocks for this game read only. If this picks up speed and hacks start to dominate like MANY other games I used to play (Battlefield series, CS series) I shall ask for a refund. Frack them leet hacker a s s holes!

Wow ... you just discovered this a month after it was (supposedly) available from said cheat program company? Couldn't use the search on the forums?

Here's the deal: Number one, in this game because of its inherent nature, only terribad players would even consider buying this sort of thing. They really aren't that much of a threat.

Aside from that, welcome to online gaming. People will spend money on cheat programs, PGI will detect and ban said players, rinse, repeat. It's basically a game of whack-a-mole.

The problem with encryption is that encryption of any length causes huge latency. Short encryption can be broken on the fly.

Wow, I don't search for the latest hacks on a regular basis! Pardon me all to hell...

I disagree with your number one because a good or excellent player guiding a team can make incredible use of the tactical information without the use of any aimbot. If you think that's not a threat of any kind to you, fine, but I can see premade vs premade match becomming a foregone conclusion where a team is cheating with this.

Battlefield didn't give you a refund and MWO isn't going to either.

We live in a society were cheating, lying, stealing, etc ad infinitum are the things
that get rewarded.

The old saying holds true in this societal asylum: "Nice guys finish last".

I don't like or condone it but it is a fact of the greed based consumerism driven Western society.
