Except as far as Piranha and PGI are concerned the game is now "live" Paul I believe it was stated as much during a live chat; there will be no more resets, all MC transactions are final. "Open beta" as a title applied to MWO, is nothing more than fluff for those gullible enough to ignore all the bugs and missing content for the sake of marketing hyperbole.

....this discussion... is disturbing... I've done more than 20 match so far piloting an Atlas and a jenner and i managed to avoid the majority of lrms by using cover and power off . Ok artemis lrm's are deadlier but I do not see this heat problem , I can afford 3 more alphas on my jenner now b4 heat warning ( 4 med 2 streak ) , cant do more than 2 with a quand LPL but now heat level go down faster with DHS and chain fire is more viable .

Bloody hell you are allways too negative .

Ah and btw.... HEADSHOTS! EVEN ON JENNERS NOW

the biggest problem i have with this patch is the 4 man min. to enter in battle. i like the lance formation(4 man) but dont like being constricted to it. trying to train for the planetary domination is much harder being constricted like this and i know my clanners and our mercs are pretty steamed about this(why im posting). I want to go up 8-8 premade. i dont mind waiting in a matching que to get into the game either. playing with this many pubs is destroying my stats. Battletech has always been group warfare. In canon, boardgame all of it. So why is this game leaning toward lone wolf play when this isn't the solaris arena? not going to quit the game but i want more community warfare.

  • New map that was suppose to be released earlier... (half woot, you're behind your own schedule)
  • Temp that works on the new map (WOOT!)
  • The broken ship in Forest Colony (Very nice, but why isn't it in the snow version!?)
  • Nvidia Bobble Wings that move (Woot!)
  • Bobble heads that you can actually see now instead of using free look in cockpit! (WOOT!)
Sadly this is all the good, the rest was a fetid rotten corpse of a dead cat that you're trying to force feed us.

played the last 2h and am really pissed off. Before the patch mechs with 40-50 mph had some chance in battle. Now i dont even see the battlefield. Sry guys but what u did with this settings, there is no point in controlling a mech that has less then 70 mph or Atlas or LRM boats.
Before the last 2 patches i enjoyed playing a dual ac20 cat. Now, i see a commando that runs around me and a bunch of lrms coming my way with impossible angle changes (no more hiding behind the buildings and rocks) and i die within 20 sec of the contact with the commando. The only thing i can hope to kill are hunchs and awesomes if they get into my (max) range and usually i don't have a chance because of lrms. Then i tried to use my brain, and got an idea that maybe i need to adapt a little. Tried dual ppc, quad (or just dual) large lasers, dual gauss, faster engine and not much has improved. The precision and timing i need to hit something to do the equivalent amount of dmg that lrms are doing (especially now with Artemis) cannot be compared. Now add the lag of weapons and the improper hit boxes (especially vs the light mechs).

Not to mention that i even don't understand you reasoning with the ballistic weapons balance.

Gauss rifle = 1 heat, 10 ammo per ton, 15 dmg, 15 tons max dmg range 650
AC20 = 6 heat (now), 7 ammo per ton, 20 dmg, 14 tons max dmg range 270 (and 3 slots more)
So is the 30% more dmg = 600% more heat, more then 50% less range, and 30% less ammo per tone + more slots?

And with the same price!?!

Imo its not good that an Atlas who is supposed to be an ultra slow moving fortress (lots of armor) with a considerable amount of weapons actually uses gauss rifle to improve his dmg while reducing the generated heat at the speed of 65 mph. With the upgrades you made, now it is possible.

STREAKs are broken in the way they are now, the amount of dmg they do with the skill needed to do it... well if it wasn't sad it would be funny. It should be good if they weren't possible to implement into a 70 mph (or similar) cat that can fire 6 at a time doing 30 dmg of almost autoaim to torso. But for some unknown reason this seems to be less troubling with the last 2 patches (guess u managed to make some larger issues).

And for the love of god, implement the option to buy a mech chassis without the weapons and engines. Am sick of farming for a mech just to sell half of its components the moment i get it.

The whole experience from the last 2 patches is like MWO is shooting at my knee. U know what happens if i get tired of dodging.

P.S. If i can add, you did a really gj with solving the exit game (task manager) issue, and on my machine the game works better now :)

edit : it is possible that my rant was caused with the patch that has turned slow(er) heavies into non-viable options (or it hit them the most)

if they lose sight or the lock then the missles go to the last known sight so you just have to move over a little and they will miss

I dont want to change the way i play. This would mean taking Catapult, Awesome or Atlas. I want to play Hunchback, Dragon, Centurion and Raven. Right now all those mechs are unviable. Especially the Dragon. I pick a dragon and get a lrm cat for my slot.

Adapting right now means boating lrm and stay at the base wating for target locks. This is not fun for me.

I'm convinced nobody on the team has actually played the game from the perspective of a new player. I think the biggest mistake in closed beta was testing the economy with a whole bunch of founders using founders mechs with premium time and oodles of MC. Closed beta was just pre-order open beta.

Heat is not nerfed its better ive even removed heat sinks that i didnt need

So I'm not sure the new matchmaking or team limit is working. I'm still regularly being dumped into games where the entire enemy team is made up of founders while mine has zero and we go on to lose 0-10.

true but that doesnt mean **** when a jenner is circling you and so they keep lock and then they have artemis so terrain cover no longer works and boom boom boom, three volleys and you dead

As I've been saying, no.

They do not legitemately test these patches. It's likely just the developers playing a match or two on lunch break or something.

The issues are obvious and easy to find. The bugs appear quickly and are obvious to all.

If anyone actually thinks real testing is being done, I honestly am failing to see exactly what you're seeing.

They are either disconnected because of their development and are incapable of viewing the game from a player perspective, or they're incompetent and have no idea what they're doing.

I officially hate patch day anymore.

Might not be as bad if they gave us real detailed patch notes explaining EVERYTHING they tried to do or did do.

Figured the first patches after OB would be the best yet.

Way to show off your supposed beta progress to the public.

I drop my first game with regular LRM and get 4 kills before I get focused with just 2 volleys and Atlas dies.
