I am tired of the extreme shake of LRMs ... the current no shake isn't the right way to go either. Minimal shake is okay, but the screen blur thing is the worst thing ever. It really needs to go.

The shake was overly excessive.

Bring it back, but it needs to be in relation to how big your mech is and how big of a slug is hitting you.

LRM's to an atlas (no big deal)

LRM's to a light mech (big deal)

AC/20 to an atlas (rock the mech)

AC/20 to a light mech (possible fall?)

I agree I never know if I'm being hit by LRM's or not my mechs do not shake nor do I hear my AMS going off, now when I spectate I do see and hear it. The incoming missle message is not accurate plenty times Ive taken cover and the missle were actually targeting the guy near me. The only way I know I'm being hit is I have to keep looking down at my armor on bottom left of screen to see if its flashing.

I'm pleased with the cockpit shake as of the hotfix this morning at 1030hrs PST (GMT-0800). I can tell when I'm getting hit with LRMs and SRMs now!

Very, very pleased.

Is this a bug or was it intentional? I miss LRM shaking my cockpit so that I was very aware that I needed to take cover...

Not to mention rocking was a good benefit of LRMs to the team, as it made aiming more difficult for the enemy.

Have we gotten any word from PGI on this change and if it was intended?

Yes please bring back LRM shake. When i am focused on a target i tend to miss the incoming missile message. Bring it back, just a little less than it was.

Yes, I agree. Everytime I play and get hit by LRM's I am like "WTF just hit me? oO". And PLEASE add computer voice to HUD messages, like the one in your recent Open Beta Trailer.

I was getting a shook last night when taking LRM fire? I wonder if I'm the one with a bug because it was very noticeable.

I think that getting back the shake is something needed, otherwise, especially when you are engaged, you don't understand if the lrms are hitting you rather than a nearby lance-mate. Only the sound isn't enough and I don't really bother the "incoming missile" indicator.

They took out missile shake in response to the community's QQing about the pretty lame Streak Cat builds, where the most common tactic was to chain fire the 6 Streaks to cause constant shaking that prevented any effective return fire. If the option is between you guys not noticing that you are getting targeted by LRMs despite the massive "Incoming Missiles" message, and Streak Cats getting a second life as a cheese build... I say that it's better off without the shake.

I'm fine with taking out the LRM and SRM shake, if they also take out the ******* AC2 shake... goes on my nerves to not realy be able to aim at a guy with 3 AC2's who is shooting at me ... so take out the AC2 shake or bring back the rocket shake ....

I know that I have complained about the Cheese build Streakapult. But I had no idea that they would remove the shaking all together. There should be knock back. Right now, the 1st indicator that you find out that missiles are coming is when missiles pass by your view screen and you realize your right laser isn't firing cause it's LIKE GONE MAN!! The Missiles incoming works well, but the missiles following around corners is a bit much.

Agreed, I'll be glad to see missile screen shake reduced, but please don't remove it completely! It's a huge part of the immersion into the battle, and a great indicator of incoming fire.

Having an on-screen message flashing without any screen shake just takes me completely out of the game. I want to feel like I'm in the heat of battle, not playing a simulator at my desk.

Totally my point.

I don't really notice the "Incoming Missiles" message. So bring back the hit shakes (slighty less than it was before) and add acoustic notifications.

Streaks are supposed to "follow" you around corners. That's why they are streaks. And Artemis IV is supposed to help the missiles group tighter and run a better lock on you.

Just let them add *******' Betty and maybe a little bit of a cockpit rock and it'll be awesome. We just have to remember that this is a work in progress. And it's progress that each and every one of us has direct influence on. When was the last time you got to ***** about a game and then see immediate results fix what you were ******** about?

Impact shaking or rocking should always be implemented. When you look at the 3D 'Mechs outside of your cockpit that are being hit, they show a visible jolt pretty much for every hit they receive. That jolt, simply because it is present in the 3D model, should automatically be "felt" inside the cockpit as well.

Needless to say, the jolt looks rather funny, but that's a different story and should be a consideration for the animation artist.

But the shaking was purely cosmetic; it had zero impact on your targeting reticle(s). People who complained it threw off their aim were probably lousy shots to begin with.

Gee, I dunno, maybe they could leave it out for SRMs (or make it very small) and put it back in for LRMs?

Yea, basically this. LRMs need the shake though.
