But I did have a fun game last night.
We dropped 5v8. We were the 5.
We all performed a shutdown on caustic behind the big tanks. waited for them to come to cap, then came out firing. The pugger didnt follow exacty, but got the idea.
He still died pretty quick. The remaining 4 of us rocked the entire 8 man team without losing a man.

Only effect from my point of view is fewer friends to play with, and fewer tactics in the game (since a lot of the opening phase is watching the pugs wander off to get killed).

Yeah, I was winning too last night. Just not near as fun.

its just senseless.
if your randoms rush into the death you find yourself in a 4vs8 or 4vs7.IF randoms did well 4vs6
this happens every 2nd round.its just frustrating.
cant get why they changed it like that.
the matchmaking wasnt that bad.
and all the whiners should accept that they just NEED an unit they can play with.
if you play alone,you die alone.as easy it can be.
we had 6vs8 from beginning anyway sometimes.

There is a resounding difference. No one is forcing you to PuG. The Devs are now forcing TS teams to PuG. You PuG because you choose to which is ALWAYS better. Any system that eliminates choices is broken IMO.

It's really not a good fix to the problem though.
Its not a fix, its a bandaid until the real fix comes. I can't blame them, because they were risking a lot of new players retention loss due to PUG stomps. Just be patient until they get us the fix, at least in the meantime it makes for more of a challenge for merc groups, because quite frankly winning 8 to 0 most of the time got very boring and grindy.

no BUT i AM being forced to face premades with 8 random players
im not being put on teams with a 4 man squad and 4 pugs im being put on teams that are still 8 pugs vs 2 4 man teams
so again all i can say to you is AWWWW you cant have your wins spoon fed to you anymore. here let me cry you a river..

Hey! Before the patch a lot of "teams" announced that it would be no difference, if it were 4 or 8 players, as long as it is a premade against PUGs. Couldn't be so hard to win those games now.

Some people just fail to realize that for a lot of people the fun isn't in who you are dropping against, it's who you are dropping with. Dropping with knuckleheads is not fun.

Exactly, thanks for understanding. I had a bad run of this after updating patch. Three games in a row.. One afk then One afk Then Two afk. 3 Atlas arks and one Catapault. It is a lot of tonnage to be afk under the current drop rules.

This is an example of the player that enjoys driving new players from the game and will do ANYTHING to avoid a fair fight, they follow the path of least resistance.
The bottom feeder premade is the reason why the matchmaker HAD to be changed. Ultimately the bottom feeder/griefer is one demographic you DONT want to cater to because they are parasitic to the game and bad for its longevity.
As it stands PQI has changed the matchmaker, and matches are *much* less 1 sided now. Keep in mind for "Serious" premades, they will be re-adding 8v8 premade only mode at a later date.
Long term they have plans to cater to "Casual" and "Hardcore" gamers...
Id really love to see them to add a "Solo queue" only mode alongside the 8v8 only mode... "Solo" queue, with random team mates is a different kind of challenge,and no less skill is required because you need to adapt to constantly changing conditions to succeed.
As to the OP... consider it a challenge if your "elite" premade starts a man down...

Not that team work is required, even without scouts atremis lrm boats are knocking everything down. Scouts can't get close enough to scout them before taking a full volley of missiles to the face.

You assume much, I was playing scout with one mate in lrm med mech. Our group had eyes on early and a clear picture of inc forces. This is only helpful if your team takes notice and does not have at least one assault mech shut down beside your base (not even shutdown on the base cap which could have been a little useful).
My post is not about never playing outside a full group but about having the choice removed. I have never played Only voice coms groups. I do feel the option should not have been removed though, my friends activity has dropped 50% in the first day alone.
