You missed the point of the thread LRM + Atemis = OP without a counter. Just suggesting maybe you try it and be the judge. The new system + flight path has made LRM's the definite easy button without a viable counter.

Every patch seems worse than the last, I think this game is going to die off within a year or two at the most.

I wouldn't say the game is getting worse, Hit Detection this patch has definately improved, while the mech lab is now far less buggy. The game mechanics are more important than weapon balance, but yes -- a weapon balance fix once we get the rest of the equipment (I'm looking at you actual DHS....).

But I can't imagine how much frustration new players are having in regards to weapon balance, its REALLY bad right now, sadly.

So I've done a few pugs and so far I don't see what the fuss is about.

Maybe no one I went against had artemis but I dealt with LRMs the exact way I always have and did fine.

And then I fitted artemis to my atlas to see what I could do.

I still missed when mechs ducked behind cover and lock was lost. And now that the arc is higher it actually takes the missiles longer to get there which means lock has to be held longer.

I also got to shoot at a catapult that thought it would be fun to wander around the open water area in river city and I rained down on him. He was about 300 meters away and I actually watched as a couple volleys completely missed him. They went high up in the air (even though they could have flew straight at him) and came straight down and because he was moving the entire volley hit the water behind him. This didn't always happen and I blew him up good but atleast twice, two full double LRM20 volleys completely missed.

Non artemis missiles would have flown straight at him.

Artemis also cost me 1.5 mill cbills and tonnage to equip.

I know I need some more games before I make judgement but my initial impression is that you guys are going way overboard with the doomsaying.

I also paid 90,000 credits to replace my ammo...

So maybe they are balancing in other ways.

No... No they aren't, they are now what, less than half the price of double heat sinks? which are now made worthless considering their heat dissipation was nerfed but their crit space kept the same... And expensive to run? Almost everyone in an LRM boat just leaves off auto rearm/repair and has 0 running cost anyway, so wrong again...

Easy, that match ended in under 5 minutes and it wasn't due to the others not trying it was they couldn't out damage 3x LRM 15's. But instead of taking anyone's word for it try fitting an Artemis Missile boat and team up with a couple other outfitted the same, and you tell me how fast the match ends..

P.S. Also note there is a damage bug affecting certain weapon platforms so they don't always report full damage, keep that in mind when you try and pick things apart on the premise of others participation.
