2 LRM Boats can slaughter an Atlas in 20 sec, been there done that. Me and a team mate killed 7 mech only with the help of a scout.
2 Cats with LRM20 did that.

So can someone explain to me why they buffed the LRM damage to 2.0 again?

ECM may or may not counter LRMs, but it will make scouts terrifying.
Oh, and the new angle of attack on the LRMs does bad things to the Commando's big head..

And on top of it all, you can't even hide from the LRMs if they got someone targeting you.

The real problem seems to be the glass mechs. Its almost as if mechs are just imploding at random.
The glass internals are doing more for LRM lethality that Artemis is by a longshot.
I am disappointed with the way they implemented Artemis. I had hoped that it would be a system that would assist players who did their own spotting rather than the campers who hide 1000m away behind a hill.

In the longterm I don't see pug players running artemis. It's expensive as hell to fit and expensive as hell to replace the missiles.
You will see organized teams running them every match and after matchmaking gets worked out organized teams will only play other organized teams.
Organized team play will adjust strategies.
Imagine if a team of lights finds the enemies LRM guy, how quickly will he drop now?
I'm not saying it's perfect but I do think y'all are making this much bigger than it is.
I know for average cbill grinding I will not be running artemis.

Glass Mechs or Artemis , the problem is there, everyone is turning into an LRM boat if they want to win, no other way around it as it is.

You can't really be asking for weapon adjustments in response to a blatantly broken combat system, can you?
Yes. With the glass mechs, the extreme reach of LRMs makes them an ideal weapon. Damn near the best for this broken patch. But you can't draw a conclusion on the strength of LRMs against healthy, fully resilient mechs with this faulty contaminated data.
This is the perspective I have. LRMs were always popular because they're easy to use, look impressive, and are the spotter/shooter duo is extremely easy to organize in pre-made play.
In the previous patch, hit detection was bugged to !@#$%. Due to that problem, guided weapons received a tremendous boost over their unguided counterparts. Additionally, 8-mans came out in force to farm C-bills from pugs, and lag-spotter/lrm spam is the easiest and quickest way to shoot fish in a barrel. Finally, don't forget that the vast majority of trial mechs were LRM variants. All these factors combined to create an extremely missile dense environment, but ultimately missiles were most prevalent because of extremely poor netcode and their inclusion on trial mechs.
In this patch, mechs are made of glass. This gives LRM's an edge because of their extreme reach. For many players who haven't received the memo that they are going to insta-die once their armor has been stripped, they've got artemis to treat as a scapegoat and blame for all their problems.
What I'm getting at is that LRMs are dominating the scene not because they are necessarily OP, but because the patches are breaking the game and creating an environment where they thrive. If the patch !@#$% and made the ambient temperature of each map 10x that of caustic, gauss rifles would be the only weapons in town. Not because gauss rifles are the best weapon ever, but because a bug is skewing the playing field drastically. Fix the bug and the other weapons slide back towards parity.
tl;dr: Don't blame artemis/lrms until the blatant bugs in this patch are resolved. Also, PGI, get ECM in here yesterday. You're obviously out of touch with the playerbase.

LRM's apparently have the high arc now, which makes cover pretty much useless...even without Artemis. Not sure that is how it is supposed to be, but guys I run with using LRM boats are telling me that is what is happening. That is very bad.

You can handle it....Open your eyes...don´t stay at one point on the field....look around for cover....AND- don´t walk alone straight through the enemy lines!!!! That ist not the answer of the LRM "problem" but it is a way..
this is my personal oppinion
sorry for my english
