Let me guess; the forces at Turtle Bay didn't get the memo? Oh well, Kuritan World, not like there isn't a certain ironic justice there. :D

I guess the Clans only kill and enslave most of the people they meet, with Ghost Bear being slightly less psychotic than some of the others, fortunately for the FRR's sake. Imo, a code of honor is an elaborate set of excuses for abhorrent behavior; if the behavior wasn't abhorrent, you wouldn't need to justify it with a code of honor! ;)

the Dracs deserve it, remember Kentares!! ;-)

but you have a point there, SOME of the clans are "a little" psychotic (*cough* ponies, parrots and puppies *cough*), but i can name at least two Clans that act, umm.. lets say "human" , the Bears and the ganja smokers Nova Cats. :)

but lets not start a "quote war" now, we´re getting off topic^^

For the politics.

As a merc I have complete freedom over who my friends are, who my enemies are, what mechs I choose to field and when I fight.

I don't know enough about the lore yet but were I to choose a great house it would likely be Davion.

EDIT: Does anyone know of a list of what mechs "belong" to which faction?

I resent that Ghost Bear, our Wolves treated the inhabitants of the planets that we conquered, the same if not better than when they had been under the Sphere.
As for the reason why I picked the Wolf's Dragoons, and later Wolf itself, was because my friends had introduced me, not only to this as a whole, but I liked the mystique of the Dragoons, and the honor system of Wolf, as I can relate to it with Mando'ad honor. I am always a Warden at heart, and will be a Wolf first, and a Dragoon as a close second.

When I joined, the Rangers were few, and I saw it as a chance to get in ground floor and build something awesome.

So far we have ;), great crew, easy going, and a lot of fun.

For Kentares, for our families.

i didn´t want to say you treat the civilians in a bad manner , i just wanted to express that the wolves are one of the clans whose Khan´s (and members) sometimes act like they had some Liao genes^^

and i know the warden Khan of the Wolves was FORCED to start the invasion by some evil green birdie^^

They have my favourite planet of all times: Finsterwalde. Besides that they have got Solaris 7 and Galatea. Not to forget they managed to pull off "Snowfire".

I actually have fairly little issue with the Wolves, which is saying something for a Clan. They're still a little off their rockers, like all the clans ;) (you know, Eugenics, based caste society, and all that), but I give credit where credit is due. They were forced to carry out their invasion, well, not really; my understanding is simply that clan code dictated it once they lost their attempted action to stop the invasion. See how codes of honor do nothing but justify abhorrent behavior?

Still, not wanting to invade in the first place, and then getting back at the other clans by being one of the most successful invaders; there's something to be said for that. I also can't argue with the fact that they most despise the other clans I most despise, so there you go. Besides, technically if it wasn't for their own "recon force", which was instrumental in blunting the clan advance, the clans might have won, so in a sense, Clan Wolf may well have won the war for the IS (oops?)

I picked my faction because of easy accese to the Hollander I and II as well as many other mechs and powerful weapons.

I have always played as a Capellan since the days of the Box set, mostly due to one of the Capellan worlds being the same as my Last name.

I like the Ghost Bears the best actually, even if it's simply because they were just awesome enough to become part of our nation... ;)

Well, then you are forgiven, excuse the sudden outburst, as I thought you were insulting my Clan, and Khan with misinformation, we have our faults like everyone else, but, we acknowledge them.

Lets see,
Cool logo, have that

Politics, not to shabby there either

Mechs/power, um yeah not something we are really known for anytime soon

Because everyone else did, well actually it seems they are doing it more and more now but not really a reason for me

Planets/history, hum, only 20 years or so of independent history before we are dropped to 7 worlds by the clans, not the brightest point to look forward to other than plenty of targets.

I just love them, probably more here than any other option. I have never really known a lot about the FRR but in rereading the books lately I've become much more interested in them. Also its a change from my previous Davion/Wolf/Merc back ground that I thought I should give it a try and I'm glad that I did already.

Smoke Jaguar. Learned about them back in 1998 and have never looked back since. ;) That and Clan Smoke Jaguar is a true underdog faction seeing as how the media and lore bias attacks them constantly and yet despite all that there are still survivors in the lore. If I dare say so myself I would say that CSJ is like the Republican Party of the BattleTech Universe: Always being attacked by media spin and misinformation/political correctness and all out lies by ComStar to sway an uninformed public. :) (Not to mention that the liberal Warden Clans of the BattleTech Universe are HIGHLY favored vs the conservative Crusader Clans from that fact alone.)

Regardless I find both the politics and the lore of CSJ quite interesting not to mention that CSJ is not evil like ComStar would have everyone believe. Then again its hard to counter total media brainwashing control that ComStar has so....eh....go figure. :)

Therefore, Clan Smoke Jaguar is my choice of faction. :D

Because it pays the most and I get to fight anyone and everyone. Which leads to a not so boring day at work. Besides you "Housers" have some good stuff which always sells well after a fight. ;)
