To me, the Combine has always had some of the most competent heads of state. And being a small part japanese, and how I've always loved to play "the bad guy" was why I went with them back in TT.

As a lone wolf, I choose to fight for glory more than money. It's not about who is the highest bidder either. I fight for whatever cause has goals that I agree with at the time, and the money is just a bonus.

I was originally considering House Kurita, but after seeing so much information about corruption and rule through violence, I decided against it. If House Kurita was more like modern Japan today, I definitely would have picked it. But, House Davion seems like a modern day America or UK, and that's one of the main reasons I picked it. Both Kurita and Davion have excellent icons and planets, but Davion's politics and government appealed to me more.

Because the CapCon fluff details actually paint a much more effective, reasonable life for the typical citizen than most of the Successor States. Especially the FedSuns, who were my previous default due to having read the novels (which portray only the nobility and most privileged classes, a lifestyle which folks erroneous extrapolate as typical for the populace as a whole).

Granted that [REDACTED] was a more important reason, but the combination of plans and preferences was a happy coincidence.

I choose Steiner because of their German background.

And the fist. Gotta love that fist!

The Amphigean LAG appeals to me mostly because of the early canon and aspects of the later retconing, as well as the original insignia. The older insignia is just... bleh.

A handful of years back i was an envoy for Wizkids, specifically their Mechwarrior Cliks game. I played several factions without favoring any one in particular. When they released the Liao Incursion set , and introduced the House Liao faction set no one was playing them despite some interesting new rules, so i did. Once i make a decision to support something i stay loyal to it. Boring reason, but that is the why.

It's the lore and the games i played waay back, I also figure that marik will probably have less uptake than some of the other houses as they haven't really featured that heavily in previous computer games as most seem to concentrate on the clan war or the fedcom civil war eras.

Exactly. Those two wars took the attention to about three houses: Lyrans, FedSuns, and Cappelens (misspelled?). Maybe a few other houses were mentioned, but I hadn't every heard of the FRR until MW:O

HHoD "HeadHunters of Davion" A merc group, allied with House Davion and Fed Sons, is a really cool bunch of mech pilots that I really fit in with, I was Royal Black Watch, and White Tiger Clan before that, and found that my since of humor and irony fit them best.
