Because of Hanse. Because of Morgan. Because of Victor. Because of Kai, Hohiro, Omi, Isis, and everyone else somehow connected to my faction.

But perhaps most importantly of all, because of Katherine. When her inevitable betrayal happens, I will help my Prince right the wrongs that she will cause. She will face judgement by the hands of the Davions.

Ive always been partial to classic japanese traditions and interested in how they might be preserved even in the far technologically dehumanizing future. I imagine super wealthy members of DC society having their own sculpted gardens with ponds, koy, bridges, and a traditional castle built inside of a jumpship. The austerity of classical simplicity, the ways of bushido and honor, existing alive and well in far flung islands of humanity. All other houses would be barbarians to be defeated and ruled over... as it should be.

well i started playing battletech in 1985 when it was called battledroids then. just the box set game. then they changed to name to battle tech and a huge explosion of information. and lots of expansion. davion just seemed to fit for me.

In the DC cos they're the most honorable of the Inner Sphere. I'd normally be a Clanner, but they aren't around for a year. Also, I like the Japanese influence.

I probably would tend to skew a bit Davion generally speaking, but I joined a DC clan in MW3 and the lore began to grow on me. DC is one of the oldest and most storied of the great houses, plus the all-red 'mechs and japanese writing just look cool!

I know it can be hard to pick a faction (which is why I never did before MW3) because even though there are "personalities" to each faction, they tend to all act dishonorably given the proper motivations or lack of forethought. The best way to decide may just be figuring which faction you would like to RP the most. Cheers!

For the memories i have of playing the board and folded cardboard cutouts. Davion politics and the way the used thier military in the books i read stuck a cord with me.

Well i choose the FRR because of its story. The small underdog rebelling against the big ones. I like that. And later on the FRR gets overrolled by clans, and i wanted to play clans because there is nothing as great as enslaving other people! Oh actually there is! Robbing them ;P. So if it will be possible i will make the greatest Viking-Space-Pirates :-D.

Somebody has to go to the dark side ;-)

And i choose FRR because they are scandinavian they make the best metal :-D

I have chosen the DC due to thier more militariac society and some of the tradition and belifes of bushido and living life as a full bred warrior that is the only way i can live as a mech warrior (not to mention their symbols badass)

I guess I'm a little confused about the mechanics. I've looked around with little success. I have a good size group of friends that plan on playing, we want to form a group like a traditional "guild" and fight other groups or PUGs or whoever. The only option I really saw that fits this is forming a Merc Comp.

So, my question is whether you can form a "guild" within the different factions or only by making a merc comp? How does a Merc Comp work with the factions? I haven't even bothered looking into the factions as right now all I can find is that in order to form a guild we need to form a merc comp.

If this is explained somewhere or if anyone has any insight, please feel free to send me a message or what not. Right now it seems like people have to choose between being part of a group of friends or joining a much larger "faction" and not playing with friends.

Thanks in advance

Clan Wolf only Kill, Maim, Destroy, Conquer, Invade, Annihilate and Crush All into submission to save you and your worthless planet from worse fate from the other clans.

Here we go again.... HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO EXPLAIN THIS PEOPLE, REALLY!!!!
