1 vs 1 is a good idea, and arena fights are a traditional part of Battletech; next time try phrasing it more as a real constructive suggestion instead of a couched complaint.
it doesnt even realy have to be a 1vs1. It can still be 8 players but more of a free for all. Everyone vs everyone. This would be a great way for those lone wolf players and pugs that DONT want to team up and or listen to their team mates to just go it alone and still have fun. And then those that want to get back into the 8 vs 8 and at some point up to 12 vs 12 can do so without having to be forced to play with people they dont want to. Now i understand a lot of the Vets would also love to get in on the 8 vs 8 every man for themself matches and they should be able to but at that point, the match maker could and should see their skill level and match them against other like skilled players. Again, letting the new guys work their way up against other new guys and not have to worry about being stomped by more experianced guys.
