I think the last time I played a Blackjack in anything other than the tabletop was MPBT: Solaris on AOL and Gamestorm. I look forward to piloting one again soon. I really like the potential the 3050 upgrade brings to the table for MWO with it's two ER Large Lasers, four Streak 2's and jump jets.

I doubt we'll get them all. BTW I'm still missing a Commando COM-1C with a ballistic hardpoint.

Just duct-tape an assault rifle to the arm and live with it. *g*

So who gets to make the first complaint about abusive builds with a dual-AC20 blackjack or the all-streak kludge?

Wolftrap.
Fast, alright mix of weapons.
Great light hunter, can make a good harasser, too.
Dervish.
Balanced speed, nice harasser, could be configured.
Clint.
I hate the AC/5 version, but the PPC jobbie is a winner.
Crab.
My fave 50 tonner. I won't get started :P

All better ideas than the Blackjack, for me.
Please, not another 64Kph 'out of the box' medium.
If i want 64Kph by default, i'll take a heavy.
And Imo the Hunchie is the 'slow medium' king. (medium juggernaut to old gits like me :D )

Just rename and redesign the unseens (and indeed, unspoken with regards to MWO) and stop sending in the also-ran's.

Forgive me being all Whining Winny, i really love this game.

Throw in the newly named and 'PGI-pretty' versions of the Griffin, Shadow Hawk, Wolverine and Phoenix Hawk weapon configurations and you won't have to try to persuade people with offers to flesh the field out with mediums.

Metaphorically speaking, they'll fly off of the shelves.
And i, for one, would add a dozen medium's to my mechlab.
What've i got to do, start cheer leading in a mankini?

Trust me.
You don't want that.

And the only other viable (from a timeline and number-of-variants standpoint) 45-tonners were the Vindicator and the Wyvern - both of which also have base speeds of 64.8 kph.

(All but one of the Wolf Trap's variants are from the J***d era, so it wouldn't work for MWO.)

Dangit... :\.
I like the 'Trap, it's a great light killer. :P

Nvm.

I'd take it as a hero or one off mech, tho.

There were only two medium mechs remaining with a good number of variants in this timeline, fine to play, and not unseen.
One of which is the Blackjack, the other would be the Clint.

The Assassin would also be ok, but in the current weight class based matchmaking system no one would play it because it's very similar to a Jenner, only with more Jump Jets (not even in all variants).
The Vulcan does have interesting variants but basically is a Clint, except looking stupid and coming with worse weapons stockwise.
All the rest are either unseen, or have no variants which also differ hardpoint-wise.

So I think the Blackjack was the best choice.

Well to each their own...

still, even if i don't like FD's blackjack's design (i am impartial to it) it's MILES better than existing arts of blackjack (and certainly eons better than official BT design, which is not surprising since most of BT's original design seriously look horrible

Not all BT art is bad. I think all you kids are used to whirly bits and doodads. Its like comparing a 70s Impala to a 2013 version. The old still has classic appeal. Just sayin'.

hemmm let me think 6 tons, 2 damage, shoots across field. nope give me an ppc. the ac/2 just does not deliver the damage i am looking for. this weapon system will have to be used in massed formations to be effective. to me it should have never existed.

I know the devs are working hard to get the feel and balance of the game polished. I get it. But why did they have to give me such a beautiful rendering to slobber over for three months. KILLIN' ME.

And what is a Wolftrap but a Centurion with 5t to spare....

But it is a nice looking mech.

Hmm, well at least the variants wont that difficult to predict; BJ-1, BJ-2, BJ-3 and BJ-4. lol!

The 3 will be a winner; a pure energy boat with Jump Jets. Kiss goodbye to the Swayback!
