but honestly though what could you possibly build on a ballistic medium mech.

3x AC5
3x AC2? <-- this might actually be good.
no dual gauss.
no dual AC20.

2x AC10? probably wont be viable with how bad the AC10 is right now.

Good sneak peek but dang that thing left looks as ugly as the original TRO artwork! I wonder what happened to the sleek looking Blackjack in the concept art? I mean, it's not the greatest screen shot but it sure looks like it got lost in translation somewhere along the way. Oh well, I will still buy it! That new camp it is sporting looks pretty intense as well.

How did they go from this,

To something *yawn* boring like on the first page which looks like the *******-child son of a Cataphract that mated with a Jaeger?

It makes me sad. PGI needs to get way edgier in their artwork.

It looks like its wearing a pants suit from the 80's with the giant shoulder pads. The only thing missing is the frizzy hair with 15 pounds of aqua net hairspray. Then there you would have it 80's female yuppie.

Anybody else curious as to the loadout of the Inner Sphere BlackJack compared to the Clan BlackJack.

The clan BlackJack has the UAC-5s http://www.sarna.net..._%28OmniMech%29

While the IS BlackJack has AC-2s http://www.sarna.net...28BattleMech%29

This is not a Clan BlackJack. It is an IS omni review of the venerable design (5 tons heavier).

That's also a good shot of the cobra paint.

not to be nitpicky but that isn't a clan blackjack, that's an inner sphere blackjack omnimech which was one of the inner sphere's early attempts to replicated clan omnitech in their own designs. another example would be the strider, an inner sphere omni based on the cicada.

this is not the same thing as the Jenner IIC, RIfleman IIC, Warhammer IIC, Orion IIC, etc. that are clan upgrades of classic IS designs.

I'm liking the screenshot, looks compact and I assume the mech displayed isn't mounting any Ballistics (hence the stubby arms)

What is most likely to get Blackjacks headshotted is the fact that, due to the arms ( and guns) being placed at cockpit level, alot of people will only expose that part of the mech to fire and there isn't much else to shoot at as you can see.

No such thing as a *clan* black jack, thats the BlackJack omni, 5t heavier and not around until 3057.

But I always thought it odd that they were using the art for it during 3025.

But it did look damn sexy for its time.

My mistake everyone...I saw OmniMech so I just assumed it was related to the clans...

But anyways, why would they talk about the weapon layout of the Omni and not the weapon loadout of the basic.

Which is kind of making a true advantage sound like a disadvantage... :P

so it looks like this is the BJ-1DC variant that has 8 energy slots???
3 in each arm, 1 in each side torso?
i see 4 flamers, and 4 green lenses indicating energy slots

they made its little love handles so pronounced...the thing looks more pregnant.than the annihilator

Super high mounted PPC arms perfect for ridge humping. At least it'll slot well into the meta.

Why is it the final rendition is always so much uglier. Keep the same proportions. Same thing happened with the Cent.
