Hey, I just checked the prices in the Mechlab...

1,250 MC ≙ 6.95 US-Cent

1 MC ≙ 0.00556 US-Cent

25,000 MC = 99.95 US-Cent

1 MC ≙ 0.003998 US-Cent

avg.: (0.00556+ 0.003998):2 = 0.004779 → 1 CM ≙ 0.004779 US-Cent

Price of some Mechs:

Awesome AWS-9M: 4,615 MC (22.1 US-Cent)

Hunchback HBK-4G: 1,480 MC (7.1 US-Cent)

...erm, pardon?

You want me to pay up to 22 Dollar for a single Mech that might not even have the equipment I want? M'kay... 22 Dollar is like half the price of a newly released game.

Please tell me I am missing something.

What is really funny is that some people have paid hundreds of dollars to play
a 4 map TDM arcade shooter when they could have played LL for free if they have
Crysis WH (about $10 if you don't have it).

The tiered structure for purchasing MC is what keeps me from purchasing any...

They should allow us to purchase any amount and drop the tiered pricing.

ha, good one. paying 22 bucks for a single mech you call greedy... for twice that price I can buy a complete game... but yeah, probably I am just greedy... seriously, man.

Price is too high. I make $70k a year which is slightly above the US average income and I think it's to expensive. Brother in law and sister pull in twice that and they think its too expensive. He would be buying for himself and my nephew. (Double the cost for the two accounts). I would happly buy some mechs but at the price they are at I won't buy anything. The price needs to come down by more than half. Who is paying these high prices?

Wang seems to have sold well. I can't imagine regular mechs did.

The hero mechs are "selling" because there's a lot of founders with nothing better to spend their CM on. And there's some new players that decide they actually want to spend money on this thing which ... more power to them.

I bought a Wang for that reason (CM to burn). I would have bought the new one if they hadn't jacked the price up so high ... just not worth it just "to have it". Though given that I doubt I'll ever spend another dime on this game, I might buy it anyway ::shrug::

Anyone buying stuff that will probably be nerfed/redundant next week, for real cash needs their head looked at.

Yup..I bought the founder package...and now all I can hear is..."Gotcha! Hahahahahah!"

It feels like wang was priced 'just right,' while elmo is too expensive for what it is, and what it does.
Which is kinda strange, seeing how gimped wang's hardpoints are in comparison. If I was PGI, I would limit the cashcosts to wang level.

Interesting figure to consider: 0.19917

That is how much I paid per MC with my founders package. My math is below, in case I got something horribly, horribly wrong.

80$ of MC = 20 000MC
1 Founders Catapult = 2 325 (People with atlases would get more bang for your buck, others would get less)
1 Mech bay = 300MC (not sure on this, can’t remember if we got a free mechbay but shouldn't impact price much)
2(3) months premium = 7500 (Technically 2 months but we ended up getting a free month so yey us)
Total MC: 30 125MC
Cost: 60$

Thus you get at .199(.20) Cents per MC. ($0.00199 per MC)

This means that the hero Cataphract actually cost me $11, with a mech bay and the awesome 9M costs $9.78. The founders was a good deal, netting me 2x as much MC as the best package. I’m basically buying everything at half price till my MC is up.

Regardless, with the most expensive mech, that makes 30% more cbills btw, costing a mere $25 at 'normal' prices give or take it's a THIRD of what comparable items cost in a game such as WOT.

Perspective people, get some.

MWO doesn't have 800,000 players. I'm not paying big money for a mech, but I might for a really special, historical german tank, that has actual benefits over other tanks.

But that kind of money, for a gundam? Hahahaha.

No. You show me an atlas with 6 laser hardpoints, ECM hardpoints, and 4 missile points, and I'll show you 25 dollars.

I regularly spend money in the games I play for items I want. Gaming is my hobby, I can afford it, so I don't mind being a paying customer.... within reason.

In those instances where I do buy in game items, the perceived value feels "about right" or at least in the ballpark.

In this game, the price for membership time doesn't seem bad to me, the cockpit stuff seems somewhat high, but mech prices feel completely wrong to me. I just can't see dropping $20-$30 on a single mech. Also, putting the best valued MC package at $100 is a mistake. Most games I play you can get the best deal closer to $40 which is a lot more tolerable.

I'm all for the game making money but I think they are shooting themselves in the foot. These prices are going to scare away most people that would otherwise be paying customers. Lower the prices and make the package value point closer to $40 if you want to keep money coming in...

They should just ditch the gunshy attitude. We all know the path leads to 15 hardpoint mechs with 25% more armor and better twist rates. Get to it right away, make big dollars.

Give the players what they want.

It's like they're petting the one ring.

A) So you are advocating for Pay2Win?
B.)You'd be paying $75! dollars for an atlas with what you are asking as that is how much some of the premium T8 tanks cost in WoT.

I disagree. I think P2W is always a stupid idea.
