LRM+Artemis damage is too effective. The missiles fire too far, ignore cover totally, and their spread/accuracy causes too much damage in a game where most weapons only do 'book value' damage.
ECM might be the magic bullet, but that isn't in yet. AMS isn't even as effective since the missiles seem to be harder to shoot down, and you cannot reliably drop with 8 well constructed AMS equipped mechs.
If they leave LRM as is with Artemis, they probably need to lower damage per missile.
Small/medium type energy is not so much OVERPOWERED, as long range large type weapons are UNDERPOWERED when heat dissipation is considered. This creates the impression that the small/medium weapons are overpowered.

How so?
Nothing is OP. Explain how something is OP?
artemis lrms you troll. do you seriously think that an undamaged atlas should get insta gibbed by a single salvo of lrms from one mech while the atlas is hiding behind cover? i saw this happen multiple times today.

Sigh. LRMs are broken because of a bug, hotfix coming to address their flight path.

Must not play a lot. I am not any were near a newb, been testing this game since the beginning of closed BETA. All Artemis did was increase the effectiveness of LRM's by 100%. With no way of mitigating damage unless you are not only behind cover, but under cover as well. If you get spotted by a light and do not see him you are dead unless you meet both those requirements.Being behind cover is not enough. Given that there are only 4 places in the 5 maps that meet this requirement that would mean every single battle would now have to be fought in a tunnel to decide the issue of winning the battle, or you have to completely avoid battle and race to cap. You have to spot the light to loose LOS, and if he is behind you until someone spot him he doesn't show on the map. BAP would probably solve this if they used canon rules and you didn't need to see the enemy before he registers on the map. ECM would balance the effectiveness of Artemis, making it harder to get missile lock, or disrupting missile lock. This does not address the issue of some people not getting credit for damage caused by their LRM's, We do know some are since they have been good enough to post they scores.

I agree 100% w/ the OP.
I've seen a particular few around here lately who are unhappy w/ the game and that is okay, I understand their passion, it's in many of us as well.
This game isn't exactly user friendly to the average freebirth scum.. Only trueborns understand the cull of the weak.
edit: If you wish to part ways I fully understand just know when you hear about this game a year from now it's going to be even bigger and better than it already is.
( I know it's going to happen because Russ told us so, it's just a fact. PGI has atleast 9 months of straight work ahead of them... guess who paid for it? Your inability to see the future of this game is not our fault )
