I honestly thank you for installing an XL on your Hunchie.
I hope you will do the same if you own an Atlas at some point.
Looking forward to battle you.
(...but please never join my team.)

also certain atlases are fine with xl once you learn to torso twist (and actually turn your legs too to "twist" faster, then turn your legs back as your torso catches up)

If you use an XL engine for gaining speed...like making your hunchie go 80+...a good mech jock will increase his survivability and decrease yours. Smugly assuming an XL engine makes a mech less dangerous will get your mech scrapped.
Looking forward to fighting YOU.

Looking forward to this encouter as well. But hopefully you are on my side then.
This is maybe just me, but IMO in an Atlas or a Hunchie an XL engine is quite a deathsentence since everybody focus your right torso anyway right from the start.

Feel free to re-read my initial post again:
I just mentioned the Atlas and the Hunchback. Nothing else. ;-)
I run myself some XL variants. (Centurions with 225/255XL and Catapults with 300XL/315XL)
But I got used to it. People do not read what you post, they just read what they want to read.

I read all the time how people specifically take out this part and that part. But in reality most are glad if they hit a moving mech at all. Multiple shots accurately hitting the right torso on a mech going 86 kph only happens with a lot of luck.

Hunchi - i´d say your right. After they rated down the engines, a Hunchi with XL cant come up with the speed he would need to be safe.
Atlas - phew... taff decision. As a close combat brawler - never XL. But a a long-range fire support in a team who watches after the big guys... i think that could (COULD!) be a real threat.

Nope. I know at least 4 guys in my Unit who can snipe your right torso at 500m+.
I can do this at 150-200m as well. The limitation to the 260 engine made the mediums (cent+hunch) a bit to slow for me.

Well the guy I quoted said that everybody does that.
But when you look at other peoples cockpit cams you realize that most dont hit ****.
Also, the range is really not the most important factor with hitting. Of course you hit someone who stands still or comes directly at you without probelms. The issue is vertical movement. Its extremely hard to correctly guess how much you have to lead to hit a somewhat fast moving mech. Heck, your client doesnt even tell you the correct position of the enemy mech at a certain point in time. If you see you hit him on your client, it doesnt mean you actually hit him as his position on the server seems to be different. Hence repeatedly hitting only a certain part on this mech is often impossible.
