anyone help me here i've looked for a few minutes but just found out last night that mech was coming back again.... I lost touch after the last rumor of this last year...then it got squashed....Just want to make sure I'm not already missing out on beta..

Nobody knows, but the closed Beta started a short while ago.

Technically speaking, it is closed beta, just with pre-defined people, times and places where you play.

I was Like little kid being told about christmas last night when I heard about this lol.... My gaming comp crashed several months ago RL got in the way and I didn't have time for gaming so I stop playing everything, stopped looking up new games etc.. last night I logged on to friends vent server he gave me the new games coming out everyone was going to try........ He saved Mech for last lol... I got literally got butterflies lol...

Probably because it's by invite only and they've referred to it as a "friend and family beta," meaning it is pretty much fits the definition of a closed beta. Unless they mean that they consider this still to be in an alpha or post-beta phase.

FF beta is not closed beta. Closed beta will be invite only to specific forum members (golly gee, how exciting). Open beta will allow a much larger group of people in, if not everyone who is currently registered.

I understand that they might have two closed beta phases, one simply called "closed beta" while the other is called "friends and family beta." They're both still closed betas.

If it's true about beta being around this coming Summer, then in according to NA regions, we still have to wait at least a couple of months. I'm excited for this game as much as the next guy, but I think a lot of us are getting way too ahead of ourselves lol. Calm down, find some other game to pass the time. Or better yet, read up on the plethora of books regarding MechWarrior/BattleTech to have a better understand of the lore and the faction that you plan to join. That's what I'm doing.

Summer started 2 months ago? Where are you? I believe they meant Summer 2012 for North America

Summer 2012 officially starts June 20th
Summer 2012 officially ends September 22nd
