Can anyone tell me exactly what does BAP do in the game now?
The description says:
- detects shutdown mechs at close range --> which range?
- increases sensor range --> it says by 0.25 but does it stack with the module?
- speeds up targeting data --> by how much and also does it stack?

MWOwiki solves all your problems :P

http://mwowiki.org/wiki/BAP

Quote:
  • 25% increased sensor range[2]
  • 25% decreased target level acquisition time[2]
  • Allows targeting of unpowered 'Mechs within 120m[2]
  • Currently no benefit in detecting ECM carrying 'Mechs or mechs with in the bubble of ECM, detections range is still 200m.
  • Currently Beagle Active Probe is completely useless while in the 'Low Signal Strength' range of an ECM carrying 'Mech losing all of Beagle Active Probe benefits.

It doesn't mention stacking. Also that information is ~5 months old, I don't know if they've changed something in the meantime.

Also what's the standard target acquisition time?

It's pretty useless right now. So useless, not even I know what it truly does anymore.

needs a buff to at least where ECM is. (if they don't plan to nerf ECM that is)

i mean just ECM doesn't really make electronic warfare.

Absolutely nothing must be allowed to reduce the awesome power of ECM. So the Beagle Active Probe does absolutely nothing to reduce the awesome power of ECM.

It's one of those "what where they thinking" moments in MWO.

no point having increased sensor range when weapons do almost nothing at that distance. not to mention difficulty to hit.

Yes for Sensor Range. I assume yes for target information time, but I haven't tested it.

The new vision modes are actually going to massively nerf scouting on maps like Frozen City day and River City Night where visibility is near zero. You wont be able to use thermals to spot enemy movement from across the map. BAP can let you pierce the inky blackness and give you some advanced warning on non-ecm mech movement.

It does stack with the adv sensor module, you can target up to 1100m or so, not sure about the target information time, but I don't think so.

Tennex, if you played half as much as you posted, you'd be aware of the fact that we have a few weapons that do damage at 1100m and you'd probably be able to hit a target at that range like so many of us have been doing for a while now. That is, of course, totally base on the assumption that you've only played a few rounds of MWO due to your post count and lack of actual knowledge on how MWO works.

Speak for yourself. My whole reason to exist is to tank and provide data to my team. Ergo, the warbossing. Now that we have so many more PPC users, it might be useful if it stacks properly with the one module I always bring.

Yes, stacks with sensor range modules.

I'll add that to breakdown thought it was there.

And yes it helps with ECM.

Between 180m and 260m or so you can target and lock an enemy. That is with BAP + ADV SENSOR RANGE.

Just BAP i think the band is only 180m - 200m

I'm gonna have to put the BAP on ye olde warboss for a few rounds. Thanks, the Dude.

BAP + adv sensor range is good for LRMs/sSRMs against ECM (without it the target range is 180-200m, except if you use TAG).

Very useful information. It's going on. Since we're getting worse thermal, this could be a good way of detecting enemy mechs.

Wait... wait... everything I've heard so far says 180m-200m is what you can target with NO module, NO BAP. and you got 180 to 250 with JUST advanced sensor module. How is BAP helping in this case?

This doesn't line up with any patch notes or public statements I've seen from PGI about ECM before now. Could you clarify and confirm what the real situation is for certain? What is the range with No Mods, Just Modules (both the 15% and 25%), Just BAP, BAP+module.
Wouldn't 200 *1.25*1.25=312m?

So are you saying here that there is ZERO range in which you can target ECM without special equipment or modules? Do we only get a mere 10m out of having BAP+sensor Mod over just the Adv sensor mod?

Thanks for the confirmation it stacks with sensor range mod when ECM is not involved. Could we get a confirmation on those actual range numbers, I've heard a lot of different ones tossed around.

Here's a sample of what it does.

Posted Image

Basically, you get much faster response time, which makes your pubbies about 75% smarter, and ECM has less cloaking distance. Since I'm always at the front, this is only ever a positive thing.

But you need to sacrifice heatsinks or artemis to fit it properly. It's up to you. You can fit an extra reload of big gun ammo to compensate.

Confirmed. It really does stack.

It's about a 20 meter window. The issue is how it affects your pubbies.
