I was thinking in the future that our mech lists will get really long eventually that it would be a hassle to click the arrow button around to find our mechs to choose. So I came up with this idea for picking our mechs.

So basically you can click the orange arrow button to have a drop down menu of all the mech types you have. Then you can select which one you want and it will display all the mech variants (or duplicates if you have them) to show. If you want the original view then you can press the orange triangle again and it will display all your mechs like before. Clicking on the Trial Mechs will of course show your trial mechs like always.

Hope you guys like it ;)

That would actually solve my entire problem with the ordering in the mechlab. I want my catapults next to eachother and my ravens next to eachother, not mixed between them. Selecting the mech and seeing the variants would be the perfect solution. Nice and simple idea that would go a long way, great thinking.

The default UI needs to be changed and this is a suitable candidate! Get to work devs!!

Looks good! But the feature I would like to see more is the ability to rearrange the mechs how I like.

This is a good idea. I was going to come here to post a drag and drop suggestion for mechbays but this works as well.

+1 (Bump)

Even if they don't do it by each Mech type (Atlas, Catapult, Jenner, Hunchback, etc) ... if they do it at least by Weight Class (Light, Medium, Heavy, Assault) and then for each Weight class, sort by weight and Mech type and have it so that all the mechs of the same Mech type are next to each other ... then I'd be happy.

If they do it by weight class instead of Mech type, then they wouldn't have to add a new 'category' every time a new mech is added, it'd just fall under whichever weight class category, it belonged to.

Just weight class sorting would be sufficient for now. Or alphabetical. Or anything that would create at least some semblance of order...
