First of all, THX for great game! :wub: And forgive me for possible mistakes, english is not my native language. ;)
It was sad to hear that you are not going to enter BAs in game... And a question-suggestion is: why you don't want to put BAs? Crisis engine will allow to do it with no problems (even MW3: Pirate Moon allowed it)! In MWLL one of most deadly tectics was ambush by BA! So, i think, many player will find BA usefull in MWO. I don't ask to get it right here and now (and it is impossible at the present time, because there was no ISBA before Invasion), but what Invasion of Clans can be without BAs? All other is question of balance, that will simple enough, especially when will be 12X12 (for example one team of 4 premade vs 12 elementals or so). And flamethrower stop to be useless! :(
So i will be glad if you change your mind! We, old farts of BT, dreaming about it! About tanks and other technology too, but mostly of BA!

+1 But I wanna troops and technics too. All players can start by just soldiers but later they can buy tanks, hover tanks, air vehicles & battlemechs.

Well, MechWarrior: Living Legends has that... But this game just isn't designed around that.

Maybe as an alternate game mode much later, but MW:O isn't a combined-arms game like MW:LL is.

Jings is correct. MWO is not a combined arms game. So far, the Devs have not mentioned anything in the foreseeable future about making it one.

Now, having said that, the only way I could see this game include Battle Armors or any combined armed forces is how you would do it in Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor - Panzerkrieg missions. Just my 2 cents on it.

Totally agree with you. In this time it's impossible.
I mean not now, but MUCH later! Perhaps even in another game (sequel, MW:O 2), but from the same developers, and on the same engine. Invasion of Clans would be more than one year! During this time, the developers could have taken all that they have done, and make a more ambitious game!
I have a few ideas on how they can do it all now, but the linguistic barrier prevents them to share ... ;)

I could see BA in the game if they took the place of a mech on an "equivalent" basis, four BA to a mech for IS and five BA to a mech for Clan, so just one squad of BA in a current 8x8 game would turn it 11x8. The hard part I can think of for introducing BA is that for them to be their most effective, they need to A) catch a ride on a friendly mech and then B) climb on enemy mechs to rip off armor. These would probably be difficult to program into the game, but not insurmountable. The hard part would be C) removing BA off of your own mech. In the TT you could use your arms to try to knock them off. With the limited control a mouse gives you over your arms, that would be harder to incorporate, let alone balance.

BA would be a great idea! (as would pilot ejecting and running around like Battlezone 2)

at this time it looks like the devs have theit hands full with the basics of the game as it is, but
in any case i would love to have the option to play as or against BA even on the made-for-Mech maps as they are now.

Given all that remains to fix and add,though it would be cool, i dont think it should be a priority to spend time designing a system to latch on to mechs and remove them until the game is much more advanced. I would nonetheless like BA using their jump jets and small size to hide in terrain(and below the crosshairs when too close), if they run hide and jump they might be hard to hit except with MG and Flamers (giving these a bit more usefulness)

It would add an entirely new gameplay experience, like a hide and seek guerrila warfare which was great in Half Life 2 when battling the towering Tripods.

This new gameplay would make BattleArmor a more interesting addition than new Mech X or Y which are superficially different but mostly quite the same in gameplay.
