as long as the vast majority cant have clan stuff, otherwise the vast majority will have clan stuff. if its better, they will flock to it.

The thing is anyone should be able to play Clan if the choose it but it should cost ether billions of CB or MC.I can see this coming already in PGI's overall plan. DAVE don't give up your commando yet you might never be in the top 10% but you can still dream and drive your commando loll. :P :P :o

This is my theory on all of it.

Once the meta game rolls out, we will have 3 options, join a house, join a merc corp, be a lone wolf.

Joining a house will let you advance in rank in that house. You will have access to special skins, and cheaper equipment depending on which house it is. You will also be paid a flat bonus for winning matches under said house.

Merc corps will pay normal prices, and recieve normal rewards for winning and losing matches. However, they will have the potential to make more c-bills in the planet conquering meta game based on their own play, aka winning or losing the planet. Much higher potential for c-bill gain over a house member, but much less stability in the amount of c-bills you will recieve regularly.

Lone wolves will probably have lots of special stuff they can unlock, skins and sybols, cosmetic stuff. Possibly gain whatever reward bonus they are helping win (fighting for a house, get a small bonus, fighting for mercs get a cut of the c-bills)

When the clans come, my guess is that the tech will be more expensive to keep repaired, and the mechs themselves will be VERY expensive to aquire and maintain. This way, the actual gameplay, the weapons, will be attainable by all, and the mechs themselves, will be rarer on the battlefield.

If you join the clans, I would guess that you actually take a big c-bill cut from what you would normally make(because you fight for honor and what not), but it is cheaper to maintain all equipment that you own.

Whatever they end up doing, it should all revolve around the mighty c-bill.

i hope to be able to get a commando some day,*swoons*

i just dont want scrubs in the clan mechs, i want people working together expertly and playing flawlessly, i want to get my but kicked by the best, with the best, or its not mechwarrior. the clans need to come in all crazy, then the come back of the IS. its such a good story, why mess with it.

if the standard pugger has access to clan stuff, it wont even end differently then a normal fight, and if i beat the clan mechs the first time i see them, im not gonna be happy

Been a while since I mentioned this... but for those that play (or used to like me) World of Tanks... the Devs/Mods run Company Battles as specials battles now and then...

MW:O... we all know the Devs/Mods play... some of us (a lot more than likely) have seen a few of them in game since Closed Beta started... so, what's to stop the Devs/Mods from playing the Clans in the beginning... thereby, to start, restricting access so that NO player has access to it... until they feel it's time to let players in on the Tech as well...

Don't know, but that's one way I can see that it could work out at first...

the devs do play, but like i said, i want the best mechwarriors to be the clanners.

Because the clanners are supposed to be good pilots.

LoL jk

But i have cored paul is both games ive played against him :). To be fair, one of those was a full 8 man premade, we left him for last, and literally picked apart his arms, a leg, and side torsos.....

Given the current state of balance, clan mechs sound like a really awful idea.
