Explain how you think having bigger maps would make all matches end in base rushes. Because the biggest map we have now is caustic... and base rushes happen much less on that map than on frozen city, which is smaller.
Odd, I don't remember saying all matches...huh.
My reasoning anyway is as follows. Bigger maps mean it is easier to move along the edges and around cover to stay hidden. Just makes rushing harder to detect.
Also, if a light or two gets to your base in a larger map and starts to cap, your team might have a lot more distance to cover to get back to base and defend. Most times people tend to move away from the base (about half way to the center of the map) and take up positions where they can fire off some shots and use cover, this leaves them farther from their base on a larger map.
I suppose they could make maps larger but funnel people towards pinch points to help prevent this, but I bet if they did, people would claim the map was too small because they couldn't free roam as far.
To me, the maps seem good as they are for an 8 vs 8. You can get back in time to stop a base cap (unless it is a full on rush). From many places in the current maps, you can detect movements and report to your team even at the out skirts of the play field. There is still places to hide and sneak as a scout. I am just saying that IMO it seems good the way it is.
