On a more serious note, I would like to point out this is Beta. We are here to test things. As unsavory as it may be, there will always be a very large risk with getting in-game items. Because there will be bugs and changes.
Does it suck? You bet.
Should we all demand compensation for every thing under the sun? I don't think so.

Had it been a small sum for the upgrade, or a one-time cost, I wouldn't be even making this suggestion.

That's total bogus. Useless is complete bunk. NOW you can't instantly kill medium mechs or smaller without them even getting to shoot back. 3 LRM 20s doing 120 damage was total BS as they curved around and over cover.
Another thing. This is BETA. Changes are what BETA is for. Far to many of you act like you paid money for the game, or that it is ready for "normal" release. You must remember you volunteered to play BETA and stop acting like it's not BETA.

Oh, don't tell me 300k-500k for LRMs every match are too much for you.
It's still beta, open beta, not a full game.
Things will change every patch.
Live with it.

I'm not pretending. It's beta in name alone. If it were really beta, we'd be getting periodic wipes and they wouldn't be trying to sell us stuff. I was against it leaving closed beta as soon as it did, because it clearly wasn't ready. The fact I'm down several million C-Bills because it costs as much to downgrade an upgrade as the upgrade cost in the first place is a testament to that. Having to keep paying for something I've bought once already seems pretty broken.

This suggestion has nothing to do with rearm. If you do not wish to comment on the suggestion, please take your rant elsewhere.

And no... don't feel I deserve a refund or credit for anything...

I'm playing without any CBill bonuses and whilst I complain to myself I don't feel entitled to a refund every time one of the weapons I use gets nerfed.
Trying to sell stuff in beta. How do you think this game is funded, with milk and cookies?

No, no, but seriously, I think we should all get refunded the money spent on anything we buy all the time. A "try before you buy" experience. I don't think we should ever take any consequences of our purchasing, it devalues our time knowing that if I buy something relatively low priced and in it's testing phase and it doesn't work out we'll have to spend money to remove it.
You sir, are my hero.

On a more serious note, LRMs will be getting more and more tweeks in the months to come. Each new system that comes online will be buffed and nerfed.
The real tragedy is Artemis testing was skewed by the base LRM changes. Now so many poeople dumped the Artemis that I don't see many people testing it.

It's the principle of the thing though. When we've got upgrades to test that cost 1/5th the price of a mech that turn out to be worth absolutely nothing - This 'Beta' seems to be playing too fast and loose with our funds. Do any of you think it's very ethical for that crappy zoom module to still be for sale?

Yes, because everyone knows how terrible it is. Or at least they will by the time they've got enough GXP to buy the thing. I don't think ethics come into that module's price at all.

And the game shouldn't charge beta testers, it should be otherwise, as we do them a favour.
