Hi Dev's: we used "Rotary" weapons in one of our IS Vs Clan scenarios. Mainly rotary LRM's and M.G.'s. They were awesome Clan modified weapons, but Jammed on double 1, double 2 etc.

Worth a look?

"Liked" for a fond appreciation of, "We are MechWarriors ourselves and want the best game out there."
Everyone knows that the people making the games are doing so because they really WANT to have it made and made right because they're fans and followers of the game themselves, but even so, it's refreshing to have that reminder that the Devs are always here, and that they're one of us.
"You're one of us now, Michael!!!"

Just please do not break the lab like MW4 and Microsoft did!!!!

Microsoft to the Mechwarrior Genre is as was Dark Ages was to the CBT timeline!
(my personal opinion)

I beseach thee, all mighty lords of what is to be.

I a humble mechwarrior like others, at your whim, waiting impatiently, nervously, anxiously, eagerly, patiently. Pacing the corridor of our drop ships, armory s and mech hanger bays.

Please repeat not the error of Microsofts programming and surrat ways!!!!!

I'm sure they'll do a wonderful job of not screwing up the Mechlab. even from what little we've seen so far, it looks awesome.

IF THERE IS ONE THING I MUST HAVE, its a BATTLETECH/MECH2 / MECH 3 style mechbay.,, none of this mechwarrrior 4 GARBAGE mechbay, we NEEEDDDD to be able to remove and insert things properly, this is one aspect of the BT universe that has been robbed from us, for instance, in mw4, you had set hardpoints for energy, projectile, missle, and any, type of weapon slots,, that was serious RUBBISH , it was untollerable, and caused mw4 to be deleted, and the cd used as a target for my m14 , , , , i was sooooo disgusted, biggest insult ever, we know how to build a mech, weve been doing it for 20+ years, we NEED OUR MECHSHEETS BACK! i dont care about anything else in this game, but if its a mech 4 style mechbay, im gone, and draggging my friends with me, back to the table game, please dont put a mech 4 style mechbay,, please please please dont do it, it made no sence, you remove the arm and put in a ppc, you get back to base, you remove the arm, and put on the ac20 you just salvaged, thats how it goes, yeah, your mech might look absolutely obsurd, but if i want big missle racks on my catapult, then i should have that, if i wanna pull those off and put on a pair of ppcs, then i should be able to , , period, (with the effect to NOT havving the missle racks, and firing ppcs. LOL like in most mech games so far with the exception of MWLL......even tho it had NO mechlab! ^_^:(^_^:(:()

I would like to see a merge of hard points with the classic readout sheets. Say an awsome for example 3 ppcs and an srm4 you should be able to mix and match based on tabletop weight and crit rules for componets, but that chassis should not be able to boast balistic weapons. As an example if the critical system is exactly like the tabletop, if the there is a spare critical space in the right arm restrict that critical spacing in the entire arm to energy weapons only. You can then drop the ppc for 3 crits and 7 tons and drop a 3 tons of armour and then you could mount 2 Large lasers at 2 crits and 5 tons each in its place and still stuck sporting an srm4 in a missle only crit spacing, not overly useful but true to the board in a build sense aswell as to lore. While this may promote some forms of boating it off balances potential boats by forcing them to use different class weapons energy, balistic, and missle in one chassis or at least 2 types. Should the pilot choose to use the weight of other areas that don't support the weapon class they are trying to boat, those boated weapons are all going to be in the same location making them easily destroyed and severly limiting the mechs balance in combat based on terrain, convergance and, the new independant reticules, this also leaves the other areas of the mech useless. Although... boating is a part of battletech, lets not forget the nova/blackhawk an offical laserboat. You know why mech 2 and 3 were the best mechwarrior games.... because they stayed true to the board and made simulation easy. Most of us here that will play this game, are not from the twitch C.O.D. generation and neither are you people making it, to hell with those twitchin, fingered, goldfish brain, A.D.H.D. stricken toddlers. we like our big explostions and edge of you seat moments sure, but we also enjoy using our minds to calculated the most effective means of making that explosion happen, and sharp wits in combat, not who has the quicker fingers and no attetion span. Give us a real mech lab, putting effort into you mech and testing it in combat is one of the greats thing about mech warrior win or lose. Also before you follow microsoft's fine example of great implimentions and ideas. Remember their fantastic contirbutions to the mechwarrior franchise. You know things like mw 4 and its cartoon colours and borked mechlab, "mech assault", oh yea and before I forget 9+years of holding the licensing and damn near making sure mechwarrior died out completely. Thank you for Bringing it back but by god give us something real to play with not another arcade game please.

Just dont be like Blizzard, and wait around 10 years periodically hinting at features of your game, then doing a 180 when its almost done and releasing something halfbaked.

But in the short time I've been watching this game, I've seen more effort and quality than Blizzard, and to my knowledge without any layoffs lol.

I hope that in this Mech lab I can build a Centurion like this :

The CN9-D Centurion has 23.5 tons for weapons, with 8.5 tons of armor.
weapons :

RA : 1 x AC/20 @ 14tons & 10 CS
LT : 2 x LRM 5 @ 2 x 2 tons & 2 CS
CT : 2 x Medium Lasers @ 2 x 2 tons & 2 CS
RT : 2 tons AC-ammo & case @ 2.5 tons 3 CS
RT ; 1 anti-missile system @ 0.5 tons & 1 CS
RT : 1 ton AM-ammo & case @ 1.5 x ton & 2 CS
LT : 1 ton LRM-ammo & case @ 1.5 tons & 2CS
Total : 24 tons
Armor : is now reduced to 8 tons even ( losing 8 points of protection )
Heat sinks 10 DBL ( 300 XL divided by 25 = 12 so all all of them are integral )

I know if I want to build this I have to remove the Hand and lower arm Actuator

Does anyone know if you can remove the hand and lower arm Actuator?

so why cant you just have the mechlab swap out laser for ballistic weapons...why lock sockets into either or?
as with table there are a specific amount of open space and if you can fit it within weight limits then why not just do that instead of hardpoint limit to selected wespons classes...seems that would open up to more truely costumeable mechs.

Because it still allows people to customize and prevents them from running around in alpha striking monsters with 6 guass rifiles. Also, it gives meaning to variants besides how many modules a variant can equip. Cannon wise, battlemechs could only fit a certain weapon on a chasis without completely replacing the underlying internal structure. The clans invented the omni-mech which was modular and could switch out different types of weapons and such, but the Inner Sphere doesn't have those yet.

This is my understanding as to why.

Hola, fellow Loather!

In other news - hasn't anyone noticed from the video that there are clearly critical slots involved in this Mech Lab?! Despite the previous assertions that everyone was all 'trying to keep the spirit of tabletop', I still figured we'd end up with MW3/4 style customization. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER IF THERE WAS GOLD COMING OUT OF MY ARSE! The possibility of cramming my 'Mech full of all the PPC's it can hold is a reality! Ok, fine.. limited by ammo vs energy slots - don't care, variants exists.

At this point, all I'm certain of is that I'm going to be a fan of this when it comes out.
