"Everyone target Borneo."

"Borneo? Don't you mean Beta? I don't see a Borneo...wait ahhhhh I'm dead."

We need to have a Jeff Foxworthy type thread, but for MWO and why you shouldn't play it.

Why not "Bunny" instead? Borneo is confusing.

I just use whatever word pops to mind first. They all do the same thing, that is, change a letter into a word so that the letter is not mistaken for another.

I use the NATO alphabet.

Reciting it backwards is my sobriety test.

In general, when in Conquest, use the greek designations for bases, since they are designated that way in the game.

Use military designations for tgts.... in general. I do mix them up from time to time or use the actual mech build name, especially since I'm trying to ID big threats like ECM mechs to my teammates in TS.

Just be sure that you are not around too many people when you yell "target b*****!"

I prefer the 1914–1918 (WWI) Royal Navy version just in case I ever need to spell out HMN.

There are different phonetic alphabets. He meant the NATO phonetic alphabet. The international phonetic alphabet is something completely different.

Essentially I was asking for the sense of being correct. I already know the modern US army version. However "Bravo" isn't lore-friendly. o.O; So I wanted to know if anyone knew the inner sphere letters beyond "Able, Baker, Charlie, Dog, Echo."

And no. Google will not tell you the battletech-specific inner sphere phonetic alphabet.

Dug this up rather than start a new one.

The innersphere letters I know thus far...

Alpha. Baker. Charlie. Dog. Echo.

The innersphere seems to go by the 1950's phonetic alphabet.

Clan letters thus far are
Alpha. Beta. (etc.)
Clans go by the Greek alphabet.

It seems that different houses have slightly different ones.

My question is, which ones are appropriate to House Liao and does anyone have a complete listing of the first 12 (since it will soon become 12 vs 12)?

This...

Bravo usage is actually quite recent.
