P.S. As for pronounciation or spelling, I guess I'm biased. Call it Timberwolf or Mad Cat, Jagermech or Jägermech, Mjolnir or Mjølnir, etc.

I can roll with any of these. Not a big deal actually. Even the abbreviations. It's all good in my book

only ones I can find that might be confusing are Lao hu (pronounced l-ow hoo) and Daimyo (pronounced (dime)yo, english speakers have a tendency to enunciate the Y as a seperate vowel sound making it (dime)eeo, which is reminescent of our cymry roots)

look at you Mr. Fancy Pants............. my brother speaks fluent mandrin, I had him say the names of the liao mechs to me. Too bad I dont remember ANYTHING he said.

Being from a predominantly german community, the proper pronunciation of the Jagermech was never a doubt for me, or my brother.

my sister speaks fluent japanese, but I've always had a predeliction for wanting to know the origins and correct pronunciation for words, something of a hobby of mine I guess, the eastern culture mechs have one distinct advantage when it comes to pronunciation though, since in their natural language they're not written in english letterings they've already been 'anglicized' in order to make them legible to english readers. (that goes for russian too, though there are indubitably some cyrilic names that might keep most of their original spelling there are quite a few characters that simply don't exist in the romantic alphabet.)

Just an FYI Jagermech would roughly translate to Mech hunter or Mech destroyer.

Jager is German for hunter and was traditionally associated with early German Light infantry Riflemen in the 19th century

My theory: (essentially what Fastred said).

I'm german, and it's fairly obvious that the "Jager" of "Jagermech" relates to the german word of "Jäger (Hunter)", and is spelled differently because the "ä" doesn't exist in english. They could have called him "Jaeger" (Thats how you spell an "ä" on an english layout keyboard), but "Jager" just seemed easier and better.
It's pronounced like an high-pitched "a", an "ä".

Now to make the whole mjolnir thing even funnier. In swedish it is spelled Mjölner and i am not even going to try and explain how you vocalise ö... i leave that to people better then me. But it is a lot of funny things like that if you like to play FRR.
