Well Oswin, you suggested CLOSED after OPEN, just changing your order is all. Besides, not counting the fact, I dont wanna dig thru forums to find this, they DID have a list of coming events for us, and all it mentions in terms of betas: Friends and Family Beta then OPEN beta then with a TBD Public Release.

I realize I wasn't quite as clear as I should have been in my post, but I was trying to say I don't think that we're far enough down the line for them to be ready for a larger Closed Beta.

I know of the topic you are talking about that states Friends and Family, then Open Beta, but that was posted by a normal user like you and me, and for some reason he crossed it out, thinking that there isn't going to be a Closed Beta that includes more than just F&F.

Coincidentally, the 25th is also the release date for the HTC One S for T-Mobile in the USA.

They said that they considered the game released when they switch it into open beta this summer, since it's a F2P game, so you don't get open beta for (at least) a couple months yet.

My deepest wish is that it's an announcement for closed beta, but the logical side of me says it's more likely going to be that they show off the poll winner for the mech votes. (aka Raven)

The lead-time on making a mech ready to use is greater than 3 days. Even asking FD to crank out all the concept art in 3 days is a bit much. No, I'm expecting a mech release, because it fits the pattern we've seen so far. Garth's "Even I will be surprised" is because Paul didn't tell him what it will be a month in advance. Perhaps Paul doesn't trust Garth to keep a secret that long.

I doubt they'll give FD only few hours/days deadline to redesign the 'mech for MWO. The poll itself is still open.

Perosnally, I'm guessing we'll see naked pictures of Garth and Paul posted in the artwork section together with BattleMech 9 - Pink Thunder announcement.. Many would be suprised, including Garth.
