Hey guys hows it going. I had been doing some searches around for optimization of weapon damage for different mechs and I could not find one. So I figured I would put one together. I uploaded it to YouTube and I thought I would share it with you guys.
It is pretty simple and straight forward and will hopefully save yall some time in trying different weapons to get different damage outputs. All contact info and details are on the video in the description area.
I hope you enjoy it, I will be uploading more, and am always taking requests for something you would like to see spreadsheeted or optimised.
See you on the battle field!!!

I think there are too many variables to take into account to just try and maximize damage in a spreadsheet myself. Your spreadsheet showed medium lasers, well what if I have a hard time keeping target and pulse lasers give better damage to specific sections? Smaller LRMS and pulse lasers may increase your damage output if you brawl more but it wouldn't show there. Plus grouping LRM damage with medium laser damage doesn't seem too useful when the mechs get into too close of range. However it's a neat idea and gives you a basic starting point on what is possible by the numbers.

I appreciate the offer, but I must admit, you lost me a bit at 0.66 Gauss Rifles.
What I would suggest looking into, instead of trying to make a "solver" that determines the perfect (but completely theoretical) mech build, is to have a spreadsheet that allows the plaeyr to select his weapons, the heat sinks he has, and tells him
1) How much DPS does the build provide (by range?)
2) How much alpha strike damage the build provides
3) How long the build will last firing at all weapons at full ROF.
Ideally, you may also group weapons within range categories and create the above 3 values for weapons within that range category.

Thanks for the replies. As I said its a work in progress. That is a good idea about having people put in what they want, like heat sinks and have them select weapons. I'll look into adding that.
Thanks for the feedback

You also have to take into consideration people's playstyle. I myself generally take, what most would consider, an unoptimised build, but it works for me. I've been around a fair few months now, and have tried various builds on various mechs, but I always seem to return to format that I feel best suits the way I play the game.
I appreciate that a lot of people like to min/max their rides, but it is not always the answer, and there will always be a counter to that build. Obviously, the more information out there, the more people can make up their own minds, and that is a good thing.

This doesnt really produce optimized builds. It leaves out important factors like crit slots, weapon spread, playstyle, etc...

It is not suppose to produce optimized builds. I am just trying to get a spreadsheet going that will help optimize damage output rightnow. As I said, it is a work in progress. Feed back is appreciated, I'll look into the crit slot space and see how I can incorporate that. Thanks Khobai
