Hi there,

i played all the day to find a config for my mech. I have still some to less damage i think... "Damage done" about 1500 and 2000 after match.

Here is my Dragonmech:

2x AC2; 150 Ammo
2x Medium pulse laser
1x STREAK SRM

- Armor is set to maximum

In my opinion, others get kills instead of me. I tried to use a gauss for more piercedamage, but often i miss with that. Im firing with my AC2 to the enemy and hit, but not much damage happend i think so...

What du you say?

Hey no1337,

in my opinion this whole "Damage-Done"-thing is a little overrated. You could be a great help to your team even if you dont deal as much damage as the assault class mechs. Dont spend all your effords in chosing the strongest weapons you could possibly mount in your dragon. Sometimes its better when damage is dealt in small doses but over the lenght of the whole match. With the AC2 you can harass and damage the lrm-boats and long-range mechs from far away. You will get the impression that you are doing nothing for the team effort because the effect on the target is not instant. But dont get fooled. This is a team game and you will be of a great help even if your damage output is low compared to other mechs.

I once mounted 2 PPCs and a Gauss Rifle inside the Dragon Chassis. And guess what: i sucked hard. Now im with an AC10 armed Centurion and im 100 percent more efficient even when im not dealing 800 damage.

Conclusion and my tip to you: dont give up. Activate thermal optic and shoot at LRM-Mechs and assaults over distance while keeping up the speed of the dragon. Sure you will miss a couple of times but thats perfectly normal ;-)

I bet there is some major issue with the script or whatever that tracks damage done, with 1500-2000 damage you could almost steamroll the whole enemy team which is clearly not the case if you barely get kills.

Anyway your build is fine, tho i would replace that SSRM-2 with an SRM-6 as a lonely streak is not enough for scout hunting and barely does any damage to anything else. Having 3 weapon system with vastly different aiming means you should go brawling or aim for almost stationary targets (for example Atlases and slow mechs) to maximize your damage potential.

Kinda Confused on your damage numbers TBH. 1500-2000 sounds just a wee bit exageratted to me :D
150 AC/2 Ammo x 2dmg per shot = 300 dmg max. potential
1xSSRM2 (1 ton ammo?) = 2.5dmg per missle = 250 dmg max. potential
That Totals 550 maximum damage potential with those weapons

To reach 2000 damage in one match, you're still short 1450 damage to do with 2xMPL.
Let's assume you are completely heat neutral
2xMPL = 12 damage/volley (grouped)
.75 Beam duration + 3 seconds recycle time = 3.75
1450/12 = ~120 volleys x 3.75 seconds = 450 seconds of non-stop firing

So in order to put out 2000 damage in one match with the listed build, you would have to... Land EVERY single shot, EVERY Single Missle, and be on Target the Entire Beam duration for 7.5 minutes straight while never overheating in a 15 minute match...rofl, doubting that ;)

3x AC2

1x Medium Laser

XL 300 Engine

As much AC ammo as you can fit

You will love it

Well, i try to miss less as possible, i think any 1,5th shot is a hit with the dual AC2. maybe the kills do extra damage.

The MPL and the STREAK are for the very fast mechs they sorrounding me. With SRM6 i think i will not hit so much them.

I set the armor to maximum. What about that?

I bet the 1500 - 2000 is the c-bills earned for doing 150-200 damage.

The Damage Done c-Bills are far to low btw.

I would suggest my build, it does me a well.

2 x AC2
2 x SSRM 2t ammo
AMS
320 Engine
DHS plus 2 in engine and one outside.

Top up with AC2 ammo, I think you end up with around 325 rounds off the top of my head and near max armor apart from legs...

with a dragon with 2 AC/2's I found I was more effective with an LRM10 and medium lasers and staying at 300-500 meters from an enemy and adding fire support to target, rather than using SRM's and trying to basically brawl with it... the dragon isnt' a great brawler

I'm going Gauss, 2xMPL, 1 SRM6, XL300, Endo + DHS (2 in engine).

Play around with it though, so far I am loving the versatility of this mech. 3xAC2 is lots of fun but I like a bit more weapons mix, probably going to swap the SRM6 for LRM10 and drop the pulse lasers.

It's a good chassis to fill a bunch of different roles depending on who you are playing with.

Cheers

Hey man, I made a huge thread with videos on how to run the 3x AC2 Dragon. You should check it out.
