If you query "Plan?" at the start of a match, you are a big part of the problem.

Provide a plan, don't ask for one. If you're experienced enough to care to have a plan, you should know the maps and basic tactics well enough to formulate your own. Provide it. People can then choose to follow or suggest a diff plan.

Oh, and "lights too"? Pft. Any half-way decent scout is going to think you're an ***** for saying that.

100% true on both counts.

Teamspeak does not help with the current 4 man limit per group. What matters is that you have 4 complete morons that do not know what to do or what team work is and you lose repeatedly through no fault of your own or the three other people in your TS group.

If you can not carry the team with a 4-man group, you most likely do not deserve to win in the first place.

I disagree. I shouldn't have to carry the entire team since they all should be working together and we all carry the team equally. The current limit to groups is the same as someone breaking your leg and your hand to play tennis at a handicap.

See how in your first post you want the lights to stick with the heavies I still have to look towards your style as part of the problem.

To OP, I know that feel bro.

Just a lot of new players coming into the game (now that we are in Open Beta) and they don't know tactics at all. At least we get the chance to destroy these guys too, if that is any consolation.

If you can not beat the enemy team, two things are possible:

1. The enemy 4-man group is better than yours. -> You do not deserve to win.
2. Your 4-man group is worse than the PUGs. -> You do not deserve to win.

Once C3 is more integrated and we have a lobby and more persistent groups this will change a bit.
I am looking forward to this, since I also pug.

Wheres Garbad when you need him...........(anyone who played WoT will know who im talking about)

Or maybe just link the WoT forum post about this EXACT same thing.....

As others have said, the only common thing in all your matches....is you......and your 3 group members if you happen to take the same 3 people everytime.........

One time I got killed and someone on my team said I should use the "R" key more.
I always use that key.
You try to target an enemy mech when 3 Atlases are pounding away at you.
(Whilst you're in a Raven)

You do the best you can but the roll of Scout is to identify the enemy. Even if getting pounded to scrap. I do however feel your pain.

I noticed that you are leaving half of the equation of this. The puggers play an equal role in this since it is an 8 man team with four of them grouped together. They should and will take the blame for their failures and hand holding them is doing them a disservice since it doesn't encourage them to get better. Frankly, PGI doesn't deserve to win at this point in the game due to them nerfing teamwork.

The common factor is you. I can say in chat, hold back at base or E4 or what ever and guess what. THEY DO WHAT I ASKED.

Also, you never tell scouts what to do. That's likely why no one listens, because you showed right off the bat that your not very good at this.

Sometimes my team reminds me of this scene from life of brian.

http://youtu.be/yRO0XcevFOs?t=29s

I press tab to check on the team, and suddenly all are dead.

That is the most HATEFUL reply I've seen on these forums in a while. New players are not your prey!! They are the future of this game and if you don't take the time to teach them a little how to enjoy the game they're going to leave and the game will be poorer for it.

To everyone: I know the stupid people are annoying, but don't just rail against them! Tell them what they're doing wrong, use the text chat. They might not listen but theres a tiny chance they'll take things on board, which is better than nothing. Use what features the game has to communicate better ways to play. Don't just throw up your hands, and say 'they're ruining MY game!!!111", thats being selfish and smacks of the same 'me first' behaviour you're accusing them of.

If you really think you know better than them, use that for good, not to feel smug and superior.

how many times do i have to say it, STAY TOGETHER!!!!!! you too lights!!!

Lights scout, and cap. A good one doesn't die in the process. Half the time they are not with you and rightly so. If you're pugging you'll be on some bad teams. Step up your game, and you might offset a lot of that.

that has alot to do with every light pilot thinking they are the best driver of lights since the fall of the star league. then they run off, be useless and get a bunch of damage while we get capped by one light missing a leg because the light on our team was busy doing damage, running off alone, and being a hero.

there is no room for a hero in any functional group, lights arent special, nor are any other mechs.

For everyone mad about being on "team stupid" - try opening the map and clicking on "TAKE COMMAND". Then command, see if people move to the designated position, sometimes it reduces the chaos.
Give everyone a yellow icon to go to and most of the time people will go there, still may not win a fight but the odds are better.

I can carry the rest of the team and have done it... When the enemy team is about as challenging as a wet paper sack. When you find yourself fighting with all of your PUGs dead, suicided, AFK, or otherwise out of action due to incompetence, carrying the team becomes pretty much losersauce.
