Another player and I noticed this tonight on opposite sides. I was running along in a Hunchback, and I made the mistake of exposing myself to missile boats. So I turned back to get behind cover, and suddenly I saw a "Critical Damage" message displayed. But I never even noticed I got hit. Apparently, when LRMs were hitting me, nothing would happen on my side. No effects, no screen shake, etc. Just damage.

Another player complained in All chat about the same thing, so it wasn't just my side.

I noticed this while getting hit with LRMS and streaks as well.

There is an "INCOMING MISSILE" message that's all.
I was running around in the CICADA trial mech. Didn't even notice I was getting damage much until I saw my armour after I ran to a safer spot.

Did you disable it? By feedback, I mean all the effects you'd normally experience while being shot.

I lose limbs before I realize I'm getting hit.

Oh yeah, you were the other one in my match complaining about it happening as well. Just recognized the name.

Yeah it's annoying it's happening, I mean the LRM damage shake was somewhat annoying but I think they went too far when they toned it down ;p lol

Hopefully it's fixed soon because it's frustrating seeing your Commando explode in one shot and you didn't realize what was going on.

It's simply not in effect now. No feedback at all, for anything.

I have it to. Your cockpit does not shake. Nasty surprise when you used the shaking to figure out how much damage you had done to you.

Yep that explains it, why I died.
My lancemate claimed that I was hit by a barage but I did not notice a thing and beacuse they where at a angle I could not see it looked like I simply died of "nothing".

You reduced the effect of missile damage on the cockpit a bit to much with the last patch. You can barely tell you are getting rocked with missiles while in the heat of combat.

Ive played 5 or 6 games now after the new patch, and it seems to me like when I am taking damage, I am shaking MUCH less.I personally dont like it, I cant tell when I am taking damage unless I am seeing it hit me from the front or staring at my HUD and nothing else. There has to be a comprimise between the massive impossible to aim anything shaking of prepatch, and being made of dragonforce, the hardest metal known to man that doesnt shake for anything. Is anyone else noticing this or am I crazy?

LRMs seem to cause no shake now... which I didn't like at all because I thought they were missing... until I looked at my damage indicator.

Yea, was noticing that too. I hope it's a bug, or just a temporary pain reliever for introducing artemis without ECM.

LRMs do not cause a shake when they impact your mech.... this makes it nearly impossible to tell if you are being hit.... IT NEEDS FIXED!

I agree. What happened to LRM impulse?! The buff is rough, especially without the countermeasures in, but taking impulse out makes it all but impossible to tell if you're being hit, especially in a close brawl. I've gone down 4-5 times tonight to massive LRM barrages to the rear thinking I was a-ok.

I'm in favor of the shaking. In the previous patch (prior to today's) I found that my crosshairs stayed more or less aimed even when Thor, the god of thunder was pounding on my cockpit and my pilot's head was bouncing off the canopy - that is, taking multiple missile barrages, and I was kind of proud of being able to continue returning fire and connecting with my lasers.

Now I'm not even aware when missiles are hitting me. I notice the flashing "incoming missiles" indicator, nothing happens, and I think "Ah, I guess they impacted a hill or lost missile lock". Then I notice all my armor is gone.

I've observed this when firing on enemy mechs too. It used to be that as soon as you hit them with a barrage, they'd start backing up / going for cover. Now they just stand there and ignore you while you hit them with barrage after barrage of LRMs - unless they're looking directly at you, they don't notice.

LRMs are the ultimate stealth weapon!

+1 Agreed.

Several times tonight I died quickly because I was in a furball with another light or medium, and did not realize I was also getting hit by LRM fire.

IMHO, ALL weapons except lasers should have some noticeable level of impulse.
