Will water ever cooldown the mech in the game?

It currently has the effect, whether or not it is working as intended is a different story.

If you go into water, your heat level goes down by 2-3%. That's the extent of water cool-down.

That's not how it should work though.
Air is a very bad heat transfer medium, so heatsinks run with rather low efficiency.
Water is a very good heat transfer medium though. That's why it's used as cooling medium for many applications.

If your mech is standing in the water it should cool down faster if you have heatsinks mounted in the legs.
I'd say the cooling rate should be at least trippled (it's only a max of 4 SHS anyway).

The only problem is that you won't be able to use this if you have upgraded to DHS, as they won't fit in your legs anymore.

@OP: Cool water does cool down your mech faster if your standing in it and you have atleast 1 heatsink in each leg. :D There is also Hot lakes and water that will make your mech's heat rise; Which at this point there is one hot spring/lake in Caustic Valley. So stay out of the hot ones and you'll be fine

See you on the battle field.

When in water the leg mounted heatsinks efficiency gets doubled.

Thats all.

(It was stated to be that way in some thread I don't recall by Russ/Bryan/Garth/don't recall)

Sweet i will get that a try, i was not putting any in the legs, because i was being traget in the legs all the time to slow me down. But i will give it a shot.

It's not that only leg mounted heat sinks get a benefit, it's that all heatsinks that are submerged get a benefit. In most mechs this usually only means the legs. In a Commando, almost all your heatsinks will get a bonus.

Test it yourself:
Mount HS in the legs and note down your mechs idle temperature on Caustic while in water and out of water. Usually a difference of 2%.
Do the same with the same mech while all leg mounted HS are placed somewhere else. At least on my screen the idle temperature doesn't drop when entering the water.

Umm, I'm agreeing with you there. I said only submerged heatsinks get a benefit and, as you said, if you move the leg mounted HS somewhere else you lose the benefit.
