When games have Co-op it usually referes to a band of players fighting against AI enemies. Wouldn't be exciting to tackle missions with a group of friends? Missions could be structured like those in the single player Mechwarrior games.

If they get a HUGE budget boost, or [let's say], the game becomes very successful over the next couple years and generates significant revenue, then they might be able to contribute the programmer-hours needed to create a Player-Vs-AI experience.

Co-op gameplay is something completely different.
To answer the OPs question:
No currently there is none and probably in the near future won't be Co-op. Implementing any single player game like a tutorial already will take enough time, making extra co-op missions (they have to be balanced and possibly redone for co-op) out of any single player missions will just add additional time.
So no - and probably not until after multiplayer features are fully established.

Ah I see, that makes sense.
I should contribute some money to this game to help with that future then, thanks!

Bear in mind the first vision for this reboot was to be a (mainly) single player experience. If this MMO does well I could see PGI putting work into something like their first vision... perhaps.

Is that true? I never looked into the development of this game. As an optimistic Mechwarrior fan, I just have hope that these developers will make this franchise shine.

It's being made as one now, but the original intent afaik was to go SP with MP elements like previous titles. Current game development and funding the way it is, IGP opted for the F2P MMO model and the PGI are following that directive to the best of their ability. Someone correct me if I'm just venting thermals instead of talking like I have sense. Regardless, a PvE element would go a ways in locking down another section of playerbase though, some folks like to just fight AI.

I think the cash from founders went to IGP as IGP has already given PGI funds to start the MWO project. It is up to PGI to pay back IGP their investment before they start reaping profits of their own.
That's just an blind guess though. There's likely more to it than that and its more a partnership than IGP being a bank and PGI being a customer.

I dunno I am a jaded **** and TBH this game isn't holding to standard for dev time to production for me. They say were doing this, some ***** up top changes it.... etc etc feels like an EA title TBH but whatever.

Or perhaps full length missions with a side story tackled in. Imagine a group of 5-10 Mechwarrior players attempting to persevere through difficult missions for a nice reward. Missions may have no respawn system, making these games intense and gratifying for all the players.

Those AI missions are soooooo boring! They are totally just in there for filler like breadcrumbs in a hamburger. If we get any kind of PvE here I hope it isn't that lacklustre version. They could add a player-driven mission designer and save some dudes in their office tons of coding work (except of course for coding the designer >___> ). Mappers and modders are always the most insanely dedicated players in any game. Put up a selection of playermade missions ala STO, where folks can take their teams in and beat on some poor AI targets.
