Players who can't figure out torso twist within one game are clearly not in this game's target demographic and they shouldn't be catered to.
While perhaps harsher than I would put it, this brings up a good point.
Understanding the ability to control your legs and torso independently is probably the most simple aspect of this complex game.
If someone cannot handle the first person view, they are almost certainly not going to be able to handle any of the other more complex aspects of the game.

Anyway I thought it was stated in the early days of this game that third person would not be added?

Don't do it PGI.

You've got a vocal few thumping their chests and demanding 1st person view only. Most responders are the same 10-20 people who feel strongly enough about it to threaten and cajole to get their way or the highway.
For me it a no. I am not going to get all emotional about it but I love the game, I love the universe. I haven't played halo 4 or COD: BO 2 yet. (with nearly 1000 hours logged in each of the franchise.) I don't want a 3rd person game. I won't threaten about quitting. I wont raise my voice or use vulgar language. I will be disappointed and I fear the game will lose a huge fan-base with little return on the ignorant console gamers who will most likely only be taking a peek at a FTP game on the PC and then move on to the next new thing.
I quote the gentleman above because I cant take him serious with someone who hails from Mount Legs-alot?? Really man how do I take anything you say seriously if you joke within your profile? I hope you've put a constructive post somewhere in this thread.....

If that was really the direction they were planning to take, there would have been no reason not to say that in the podcast.
There would have been no need to talk about matchmaker and check boxes etc.
It's very clear they are looking at splitting the player base even further with a 1st/3rd selection in the matchmaker.
We would all like to believe otherwise, but the facts don't add up to this being just for Training scenarios.
Add the NO to all of your posts to Just Say NO to 3rd Person Views!

But I know there are players out there like me that want to have the ability to admire that your piloting a giant mech and say to your self " Wow, this mech looks awesome " as you get a sense of scale of how big the mech is, instead of just saying to your self " Wow I feel like I'm piloting a mech!"
So if it really is an issue when it comes to the game I have a few ideas.
1. If 3rd person was put in the game keep it out of the game match making. Instead give a "Simulator" that you can invite your friends to like a custom game from League of Legends and give very small CB rewards for playing the custom "Simulator" matches.
2. If 3rd person is put into match making make it so you can instead do a global view so you can have the chance to look at your mech from the out side before the match starts and is disabled 5-10 seconds after the match starts.
3. Keep it out of competitive play "ranked matches" if put into standard match making.[/color]
4. Some how give players the ability to see the colors of their mech so it doesn't become a Skyrim situation where you can spend your time making your character look cool then not being able to look at your self very often.
So here are a few ideas that just came from the top of my head. So in conclusion I want some sort of ability to admire the way my mech looks and give people a reason to buy colors and skins for mechs.
People need to stop complaining how its a bad idea and try and look for a compromise.
As a last comment if it comes to the community splitting, every game I've played has its separate community. Try and welcome the different types of players to the game.

Put in a training level already, cannot be that hard.
If you really love 3rd person, make it a module, then balance it.
Do not split the community. This is a big deal, imagine if there was an option to decide whether LRMs or Gauss was better as a check box. Would not work.
