3rd is the biggest ****. I hate this!!!!

Iam a new gamer, not a founder! The game is for a beginner hard, but after one week i win or kill an enemy.

I have buyed MC for the Heromech and the ground the game has no 3rd view.

When Piranha Games 3rd-View in this game patched i play that not more and buy no more MC.

Then is the game dead and i will back my money. That is not CoD. that is Mechwarrior!

This suggestion here

http://mwomercs.com/...sist-component/

Is a solution to the problem that 3rd person view looks to solve, but does so in keeping the person in a first person perspective.

I suggest anyone against 3rd person view review the topic, and post accordingly if you feel that it's implementation would be better for the sake of the game than a 3rd person view.

hey all, my first post here, was a clan veteran in mw3 back in the day. I really hate developers dumbing down games for the masses.... its prob the biggest issue facing games today. But this time i have to disagree. They've done a really great job making this feel like a sim and the mechs dont feel like toys, first time in over a decade. (i stopped playing mechwarrior after mw3 cuz of this). As such the attention to detail in every aspect is also coming along extremely well. If you add 3rd person to this game it does NOT suddenly turn into all the garbage that came after mw3. As many have said 1st person absolutely cannot be removed, or you kill the game and the fan base guaranteed. *********BUT 3rd person should be ADDED********** (altho completely different games and not a sim, what Grid 2 is doing by removing cockpit altogether is obviously the completely wrong way to go about this).

I keep comparing apples to oranges and this may be a bad example but: Imagine if blizzard decided to make starcraft 2 a 1v1 ranked multiplayer game only with no campaign or arcade... blizzard would possibly be dead now. But has the decision to further appeal to all gameplay styles affected the hardcore 1v1 player negatively? No. Very much the opposite.

Like already suggested, if you can choose games to be vs 1st person or 3rd person or mixed, I do not see a problem **if implemented correctly**. There could be two separate leader boards and rewards objectives. Separate clans, mixed clans etc. and so much more. Imagine following separate e-sports tourneys for both play styles, or even more casual tourneys for mixed games. This only ADDS versatility to the game and will make it much larger on the world stage, one which, the developers are correct, is a must. There could even be rewards for becoming a pro in both modes. Sure it makes them more money, but it also means a lot more sponsor support for us and elite players, tourneys, merchandise, and a sh!tload more players. Imagine widespread Mechwarrior e-sports running simultaneous tourneys under one roof in separate modes, then a casual mixing of the powers after the prizes are handed out. I think win win. Now the top players get listed and marketed in each mode and bring in tons of new gamers. Marketing is also a key part of this. As much as it pains me to say, there will only be a shadow of a fraction of this happening (if anything) if the game is 100% 1st person.

You see, if done properly and **nothing is spared to keep the integrity of the sim experience for the 1st person player with the option of being completely separate from 3rd person players**, having both modes becomes a PLUS for every single mwo player. 3rd person inevitably draws countless more people into the game, while pgi could also make it to slowly tease them into the virtues of cockpit play. If they dont bite, 1st person only players will still have their desired game completely separate from the 3rd person 'casual' players. But... if even some of them DO bite... your talking hundreds of thousands of more players online a day potentially playing 1st person mode.

The developers and the diehards like myself need to see the huge potential of the game by *adding* 3rd person. If honesty to the game, online modes/rewards/rankings, and good marketing strategies are implement it would be a HUGE plus for everyone. The core group of 1st person players like myself will only gain immeasurably from this, if implemented with integrity.

Hope everyone can see the seemingly limitless possibility this gives to the games future...

Please no 3rd person. It's completely unnecessary in a game like this.

even when i dont want to use it, it would ruin my Mechwarrior feeling

If I didn't have the problem of being in a 100 ton mech that gets stuck by a 10 foot fence.... you might be on to something.

The only way I see this working on any level is to completely separate 3rd person and 1st person players.

Wanna play 3rd? Only if everyone in the match is playing in 3rd. Better yet... only if you create a special 3rd person account.

That would keep those that want to play an arcade game away from those of us interested in a sim.

All in all, however, I'd be happiest if 3rd person never saw the light of day.

I suppose if they can replace the loyal players they will lose from doing this....and keep them...why not.

I won't stick around.

a) how are you supposed to see by 3rd person view ? have a magical fairy float behind your mech sending you telepathic visions ??

:) mechwarrior is about piloting a mech in the cockpit, no where else, if you don't like that, play another game

c) the only time third person should come into it is spectator mode when you are dead

d) the majority of players have said no, LISTEN

If this is a true sim game then 3rd person should not be allowed. A certain sense of realisms needs to be maintained. That being said so also should the use of a joystick as the primary control for Mech movement. And we should be able to implement it easily. If this were a true sim. But until that happens it seems to me that MWO will not fully implement the realism of a true Battlemech simulation game if it means it will alienate a certain unacceptable percentile of potential purchasers of the game. It's funny how there seems to be no question at all about one (3rd person view). But nothing decisive about the other (joysticks). Oh well so is the world of online gaming.

the joystick thing is the smallest of minorities from what ive seen in polls on here. 10 to one against using them usually so I dont really expect the devs to bend over backwards to support them

As if the devs don't have enough on their plate balancing existing equipment, they want to open this can of worms. If you can't figure out you are not going anywhere because you are walking into something maybe you shouldn't be paying to play this game...perhaps master walking before playing simulators. The active community has voted no, but they have our money anyways so I doubt they care.

I agree i think theres alot more to do befour they worry about it but why not. If they do it correctly it would be good to see my mech from 3rd person running around and camo etc. They would have to do it right though in wot they got it very good, in 3rd person view theres no accuracy and there would have to be no lock on for ssrms etc. Try something new you may like it. And have the opt out if you realy dont like it.

90% of people who voted on this topic DON'T want 3rd person. When you drive your car, do you drive it in 3rd person ? No you don't. Do why should you be able to drive a mech that way ? It gives an unfair advantage because you'll be able to see around and over things you ordinarily couldn't. The other hand, you have 3rd person only battles and from the look of these votes, your doing that for 10% of the players that cared enough to even vote ? Seems dumb to me, just my opinion tho.
