If you have a suggestion as to how to fix the blind spot, try looking up older forum posts and post there or start a new thread about the blind spot.

The only thing that should be 3rd person is spectating another pilot when you are dead in the match.

Strategy simulation vs. twitchy FirstPersonShooter
Get into cover, go to passive sensor, and set an ambush, fan out for crossfire, coordinated flanking, etc. These are all strategies and extended gameplay facilitated in past MW multiplayer games, and vital part of MechWarrior heritage.
MWO, on the other hand, is zerg & shoot, CoD style, match's over in 3 minutes.
If you want to play FirstPersonShooter, go play CoD. Don't try to ruin Mechwarrior.

And the fact that you even compare the current state of the game to CoD makes me question whether or not you play this game.

You do know that all those things happen currently without 3rd person, minus the passive sensors. 3rd person actually give tactical advantages over first person, thus the game may as well be a 3rd person game rather than a 1st person game.

Having it be first person only does not remove any of the "examples" you stated.
The fact that this game is first person gives it one thing in common with COD. The fact that it is first person. Thats it. Nothing else. This game plays NOTHING like COD.
The simple fact is that 3rd person is an advantage over first person, and forces people that like first person to use 3rd for its obvious advantages.
Just say no to 3rd person.

1st person shooter? nope.
1st person mech sim? yessir.
3rd person is just dumb. Might as well make it a console game and I'll play while lounging on my couch.

It's obvious you have no clue of any MW beyond the current FirstPersonShooter twitchfest that is MWO. In maps of past MW games, camp areas are flat killzones. The maps are big, with covers spaced between wide killzones. Your team's coordinated advance along cover positions, efficiency of providing cover fire against the surrounding ridges where enemy may be lurking while part of the team are advancing out in the open, speed with which to set up crossfire, estimates on enemy positions, ability to confirm enemy presence, and your advancing plans... etc are what determines victory. Camp, and soon you're caught in a killzone surrounded by crossfire. Rush in, and you're picked off in no time.
MWO is by far the twitchiest, least canon/authentic of all Mechwarrior games. FirstPersonShooter restriction is only a part of its problem. Ability to go passive sensor while in third person enables awareness of enemy movement without giving out your own position. This Chess-like strategic coordination is what past Mechwarrior multiplayer is all about. The best kind of match can go on for hours. In MWO, twitchy FirstPersonShooter mode, CoD players zerg in, and match is over in 3 minutes.

Least canon authentic? WHAT!?
First and foremost, I've been in MWL, I've played around in CBT, so on so forth blah blah blah.
The fact that you think this is twitchy and MW4 wasn't when poptarting was running rampant just baffles me.
How do you interpret 'twitchy', exactly?

Twitchy means zerging in and shooting stuff, like you do in FirstPersonShooters.
"Poptarting" simply means you've failed to flank, you're out in the open, you weren't in position to destroy enemy that's picking you off before they got into position, and your team suck at coordination and planning. It means you've lost. And having sucked at MechWarrior, you wish to turn MWO into something that's FirstPersonShooter instead of MechWarrior.

First things first MWO is nothing like CoD (fact that CoD is crap). Yes its in 1st person thats where is ends. Yes the old MW games had 3rd person (and yes i've played all of them). But they never classed themselves as true Mech Simulation like MWO. putting it into a 3rd person will make it more like a game.
I've worked in the simulation industry for over 10yrs and if your trying to simulate the controls, POV/FOV and feel of a real system you cant use 3rd person (ok i know BT and Mechs arent real - wish they were). 3rd Person has no place in a simulation. for people complaining and wanting it let to pilot your mech, learn the limits of your mech and theirs. As WORK AS A TEAM. if you have something on your 6 or in blindspot shout to a teammate "Get this #ucker off me, i'm in D4".
