All joking aside, it looks great. I can't wait to terrorize the Davies with it.

I finally decided that I like the new look; it looks like the engineers in a sci-fi universe with old technology had to go back a couple of generations in stealth technology to make this mech as small as possible on a sensor scope, hence the angles and overall design aesthetic. If I look at it like I look at the F-117 Nighthawk, as a foray into previously unknown territory, it all of a sudden makes sense.

Well i think if it had same nose as old model it would look real too?
EDIT: Bt the way are there more pictures of that ancient raven ?
No, while I do like the 'tradiotonal' rendition, I actually think this new design, looks as good, if not better, and it fits with the rest of the mechs perfectly. And yes, it is more 'realistic' in my eyes.

In fact, if you were to propose this is the 'real' canon raven, then the MWO design is even worse at representing the Raven well.
I think where Garth's heading Stone is that the design has been through many courses of alterations over the years (good and bad). Which is supported again by your statement, whether you realize it or not. Nothing but the "latest" has been canonical in this game system since the first update went out. I see your point, but only as satyr and cynicism, it is kinda funny. Art is not a popularity contest, if it was.. we'd get 20 entries and they'd ask us to vote. PGI do NOT ask for a vote on future art please, the strife it would cause, as evident in this post, would have flames licking the clouds of heaven.

Yeah, seriously, the old Raven looked like an eagle-headed cane, not a raven. FD's Raven is actually raven-shaped.

The Mechs are looks like they were build in 21st century, not in the 31st, I don't know how to explain it correctly.
Can't do anything about it tho.

it resembles little on eagle but so does on raven too, but who cares on what it resembles as long its a mech that i like if it changes dramatically like if Thor lose missile barrel thats what is for me if raven lose ravenlike or eaglelike beak, but i will survive once i get game on my hands

It may just be the angle, but I almost feel the legs aren't long enough.

So what I'm getting is that all birds look the same to you?
I mean, I guess that's fair, but ravens and falcons have very different kinds of beaks - not to mention eagles. A raven's beak is very narrow and straight in comparison, like how this mech's redesigned head is shaped.

Not birds but when you compare mech to raven and then compare to eagle it can be both, but what i try to say its not same mech like before its very different now.

When I first saw it I immediately identified it as the Raven, so to my senses it retains enough of the original, and yet I delighted at the updated angles and geometry of the torso.
As for everyone crying about Davion colors, give it a rest. They have already said that all the mechs will be available to all the players so it is logical for a Raven in this game to have such colors. In addition it is only a paint job done by a singel artist. Don't like it? break out PS and change it! I'm not FD and I don't know why he went to Davion colors but I don't much care what faction colors it has on it, it is still a pretty mech.
if you look at the art half are done in fedcom colors

Out in enemy territory by yourself, making the smallest target possible really does remind me of a bird roosting on a branch or in a nest.
