I like it, fits well considering its a Liao mech

can't wait until it falls to the might of the superior Jenner and Panther, pride of the Kuritans!

Looks more "realistic". I do like the direction the mech designs are going.

Yes, I think the look fits with the rest of the 'Mech redesigns so far.

I dunno...i think it needs to be rounded out a little. Yeah a lot rounder. Almost cylindrical. With a rounded top. Maybe make the legs humanoid instead of chicken walker style....bigger/thicker feet...

Maybe replace the 2 lasers with a big autocannon. If you absolutely need a laser I guess you can get rid of the missile launcher and add a small laser.

Then make it really, really slow.

And then you'd have something.

I love it. Kudos to FD. I feel that the smaller cockpit window design gives a better sense of scale, and the "arms" being nice and close to the main body makes it appear less flimsy than the original design.

I'd have to say yes. Will i ever use it? probably not because it does not fit my style of play and in past games they were the first mech to eliminate do to what they can do.

It might be a eye opener when the Raven is primaried over the Atlas LOL ........ PEW, pew, fwoooOOsh ... Pop!

I think I finally figured out whats throwing me off (maybe others too) its not the changes to the torso but the legs and (pelvic?) joint seem out of proportion. Both seem too big for the entire torso especially the pelvic part that and it doesn't flow from torso to the legs well. Not sure how to say it but looks kinda like they were designing legs for one thing and scrapped the torso for the previous design and used a new torso?

I feel like the legs should be same lengthened a little and angle changed so overall it sits lower. makes more sense for a scout mech/ambusher that way profile as low as possible without being unfeasible

I love it. Like I have said before, all of the major automobile manufacturers re-design their vehicles every year. I will assume that making money will be just as viable a concept in the Battletech universe as it is now. consider it a "all new for 3049" model raven. I heard it has heated seats too, lol!

maybe but there also one component missing i always had a feeling raven is bent down and when it runs it looks awesome.

I voted no; over all it's not bad but that nose... it just doesn't look necessary or advisable, to me it seems it would limit visibility making it hard to see a commando running up to stuff a high explosive in my anckle. I know we wont be snuffing ground pounders but it also gives the mech a large side profile i can just see getting my big fat nose shot off trying to peek out from an alley.

Don't care how it looks. As long as it can pack an ECM and BAP and ya get Muz to pilot it, is all good.

The looks of mechs will always change and evolve, that said i like the new look. It is instantly recognizable as the raven while looking like it is part of the world FD is designing.

I wonder how the dissenters are going to feel once they see the Raven from different angles?
I think the slight angle downward will appear more to their liking once they see it from a higher frontal angle.

Just my opinion.

I like the modernization of the armor plates and weapons. It fits well with the other designs, which are great.

However, he proportions on this concept art for the raven seem wrong to me.
The legs and hips are too big for the body.
The body is too skinny.
The weapon pods seem too small.
It's lacking that dip in the nose that says "bird" instead of "canine" or "rodent".

The overall impression is wrong for me.
It somehow looks a lot more like a Dobermann's head grafted onto chicken legs.
Or a Bushwacker with weapon pods instead of arms.

Oh well, at least we aren't getting the designs for Mechwarrior Tactics on this game!

I guess the Raven redesign just doesn't quite generate the same "love" that the original raven got for its sleek looks and unique, useful purpose that made it that much more useful than other light mechs of its weight class. Most of my critiques of the design have already been spoken by others in this topic, but I want to at least admit that the current design 'fits' with the vein of more realistic, military, industrial looking mechs, and manages to look stocky and heavy for its weight. Let's not forget, even if it's 'only' 35 tons, it's still a walking chunk of metal designed to withstand a certain amount of beating. The original design for the Raven, with its cute chicken legs and oversized nose, while lovely in and of itself, looks like it could be blown in two by a pair of LRMs, in comparison to a beefier looking mech of the same weight class, such as the cougar. This one captures the essence of the modern day battlefield with its design, looking as if you could actually fit a radar into its nose and take a beating and keep going, delivering lovely little NARC Beacons of doom to enemy assault mechs.

I would disagree, the poll quite clearly shows that the redesign has been overwhelmingly received very well by the majority.

I so like the design that I'm even contemplating making it my main mech and I wasn't a fan of the original Raven, at all. Thats how good the new design is for me and I know i'm not the only one.

Lets not forget that its still "just" an artwork. We'll have to wait how the Raven will look ingame. I mean, the ingame-Atlas looks much more impressive then the artwork-Atlas.
