Well they are adding alternate maps for all maps, so this will likely be the next alternate map that will hopefully be here on the 20th.

I hope that they make night vision useful if they intend on making this map actually dark.

Also why is the temperature the same regardless of what time of day it is?

Yeah... I'm hoping they make a night map so we can test the night vision. I'm also hoping that night vision does more than simply make your vision worse at night....

I'm really wondering what advantage night vision will have over heat vision, even during pitch black nights..

Light amplification gives you brighter crisper detail at the expense of color heat vision tends to have less detail and can appear smudged depending on the ambient temperature and the temperature of the terrain and can also leave you blind to an enemy like when there happens to be a mech standing behind a fire in river city lol

basically its alot harder to tell what youre looking at with heat vision than with night vision all you see is a red white blob

well, there's that I suppose.. ;)
Current implementation of night vision is worse than heat though, if the cave on forest colony is anything to go by.

Yeah, I don't care if I can see crisp clear in the night if my view distance is 15 meters...

Heat vision also totally screws up your ability to tell mechs apart in close quarters combat - making friendly fire more of an issue in intense, multi-mech brawls.

Forest colony is already pretty dark and gloomy. Bad enough I have to adjust my monitor's contrast ratio every time I drop there to see properly due to the glowing retina damage effect. If they're going to have a dedicated night forest colony map, I hope they turn regular forest colony back to the way it was early-on in beta, when it was lighter and a good balance of fog/darkness/visibility. Right now I just call it the ugly map.

You can't see anything on every map except Snow Colony, so I don't see the point.

You know what, nevermind. Bring on the pitch black foggy map. It won't be that much different.

I like the heat visions especially and the night vision too. But I would rather have to use night vision every once in a while only simply because the effects of the game look so cool. Thats why forest colony in daytime is my favorite map. You can see clearly for kilometers and have little hills and valleys where a battle with lazer weapons just looks awesome.

As I said I like night vision and that its available and required. But right now you have it too often. I like the variations in time and light though. That its foggy or gloomy or late afternoon sometimes. Really cool.

Heat vision is cool for spotting of course.

Tired of the Low Vision maps. If they make anymore Night maps I want more ambient light on them. Playing MWO in Thermal and Night Vision ruins gameplay for me.

Generally MWO runs too dark on my monitor and I have no way to brighten it. Before they start putting out more Night Maps or dark Maps like Forest Colony I would like to have the Brightness, Contrast, and Gamma enabled. Tired of having to play MWO in Thermal Vision all the freakin time!
