MWO devs and or PGI,

I’ve heard from podcasts and whatnot that there is a very vocal minority that scream about the issue of the day and that they want their money back. I’m posting today to say that I do not want my money back. For the $30 I paid for a Founders Package back in September I believe I have already gotten my money’s worth. I’ve had hours of fun and have made many new friends.

It did not start off so nicely. Between system killing freezes and getting pug stomped the game could be downright frustrating. At the recommendation of a friend we decided to join a House’s team speak server and with a group of 8 proceeded to win the next 9 matches in a row. I made more CBills in an hour than most days. The focused fire, coordination, covering fire; everything I was looking for.

Since then I’ve been looking for all the MWO info I can find. From release notes to podcasts (No Guts No Galaxy) my thirst for info is endless. Even when a patch comes out and skews the balance I hang on every post to see which builds are in and which are out. The entertainment from this game goes far beyond sitting in the cockpit.

Thank you for creating this game and please, take my money, you’ve earned it.

I can only agree, game's great. Too bad so few can make so much noise over so little.

I've played this game far more than the last two "finished" ones I bought. It was definitely worth the money spent.

I wouldn't make the claim 'so few' when we have 500 regulars on the forum, yet almost 2000 have voted 'no to 3rd person.'

I don't want it back either. I want a better game, one that I can feel confident will turn my friends into Mechwarrior fans.

Yep, I don't want my money back either, I just want content to spend my MC on! I bought the Elite Founder's pack, and I have bought two $15 MC packs (one each month is the limit I'm giving myself). Quite happy, and will be even more happy when the collisions are put back in.

I know some are impatient, but I'm willing to wait. After all, I waited... how long since MW4:Mercenaries? A long-@$$ time. And it's not like they haven't given me my mech fix already! :-)

It's a good thing you don't want your money back, because they're denying refunds to everyone. Valid complaints or no, we are all in for the long haul.

I don't personally think they're doing a lot to earn my money in the form of keeping the game alive. Whether or not PGI is using "open beta" in the traditional or the new age sense, the game is now in the public eye and is being judged accordingly. It is too raw to support this level of scrutiny.

I don't want my money back. I too have had countless hours playing a game I enjoy, and discussing it on the forums. However, I won't be spending any more money on it if it turns into a 3rd person view game, because I won't be playing it.

As long they dont implement 3rd view, I will stick with MWO.

I'm a Legendary and don't want my money back either. I did not get what I paid for, but that's how a pre-order works; I don't know why this is a new concept to people. Open Beta also doesn't equal finished product. I bought my Legendary 4 or so months ago when Founders was new and I did it for 2013. That's when I expected this game to really come to the table. I didn't bank on an "end of summer gold" like other fools. By the time my personal expected date gets here for the game; they will have tons of stuff in it, including 1-2 more game modes and the cash shop working. That's likely when I'll fire my Premium clock.

I'm talking about the ones who claim the game suddenly is worthless/demand refund/slander about broken stuff. They seem to take up more space than needed, really. :P

And it's a good thing we all voted "no" on 3rd person!

I got enough out of this game that for my 80 bucks or whatever it is I paid for founders it is not a bad buy. I've had worse.

And seriously not to be a fat cat capitalist but 80 bucks is a good friday out...its not like you signed away your house and 2 years of your time. Some guy ranting on the forums about how he wants a refund for their 10 dollas should just skip the next big mac meal they were going to get and that would be the refund.

I don't want my money back either, I have had tons of fun with the game as it grows. I have already added two MC purchases. But i have decided im not going to make anymore until the Issue with third person is decided one way or the other. If people want to play with 3rd person view they should head over to MW tactics. This is supposed to be a MW simulator and simulator means FP view.

I don't want my money back. I simply want you to deliver what I purchased. I invested in this project because it's something I have a lot of interest in, and the dev statements made it very clear that their vision for the game was in-line with my own. I absolutely love this game, and the design philosophies presented earlier in the beta hit every nail on the head. The reason I'm raising so much hell is that you're very quickly backpedaling away from those philosophies. Adding things like the Yen-Lo-Wang, which is a gameplay-affecting item that can only be bought for money or 3rd person view goes against what I was promised.

This is rather frustrating for me, because you keep hitting all the right notes on a lot of other aspects. MWO is fun as hell to play, you've hit all the aesthetics on the head, and everyone I introduce to the game loves it. I have a group of over 15 that gather every Friday in the computer lab where I work and play MWO together. I really want this game to do well, as even in it's rough, unfinished state it's managed to eat hours and hours of my time. You're so close to making a fantastic title. All you need to do is buckle down, stop adding feature creep to try to appeal to people this game has no draw for anyway, and focus on really hammering out your core features and content. Trust me, working on things like fixing netcode and mid-match crashes will do a lot more to foster a healthy playerbase than adding silly features like a 3rd person view that nobody wants. Polishing up your new-player experience with interactive tutorials and a more satisfying grind to your first mech will help you keep those that try your game out for a few hours to determine what it's like. Focusing on adding content and improving the content that already exists will do far more to keep this community going than adding gimmicks and glitz to try and keep our attention. More than anything, really cranking out community and team-oriented features will do amazing things to improve your regular playerbase. Again, I have a huge group of friends that get together every Friday to play together. Word-of-mouth is the best way to sell a product, and building features that help people play with their friends would do wonderful things for your game.

An off the cuff suggestion, perhaps a referral bonus for new players. If a new player adds the pilot name of the player who recommended MWO to them, they both get a small (5-10%) C-BIll boost when playing in a group together. Again, it encourages people to bring their friends in and it encourages them to play together. People always have more fun when playing with friends, hence your new-player experience becomes more fun. Everyone wins here.

Again, ideas like that will do far more to improve the size of your playerbase and the amount of player retention than massive gameplay-changing things like 3rd Person mode.

It's not your money anymore, you traded it for an incomplete product. Do you really think they would give you money back if you wanted it?

I don´t want my money back, because it is a very good game and it improves patch by patch!
The Devs do a good job, and sometimes, when there was something changed that wasn´t that good, they are very fast in repairing the problem!
And even if they put the 3rd Person view in, which I do not like, this game is its money worth! Its fun, and thats all that counts for me!
And Jordache, believe it or not, but the Devs are so nice, they do give the money back!
