Team working on netcode isn't the one working on 3rd person view. lesser priority items can be finished before top priority items if they are less complex or troublesome. And throwing more people at the netcode problem won't help fix it. Heck throwing more time per day will have diminishing returns how how fast it would get fixed. I seriously wonder if people have any idea how priorities and different teams working on different things work in the real world.

Third person view and netcode should both be programming tasks, one would think they are both done by programmers, therefor the same personnel could do either/both.

I think its working quite well all most every shot i fire hits and hurts the enemy now some thing that did not happen before the last netcode rework.

The rework might still be buggy but its a dam lot better than before and there going to keep working on it just be happy its not as poor as WOT where you can shoot and shoot and never touch the enemy due to all the magic zero damage hits.

Good to know, some games are like that for me as well, some not so much.

EDIT:

This got me thinking perhaps its a server load issue, netcode/hit detection gets worse with server load. Perhaps they just need more servers.

YOU SHOULD LEARN HOW TO PLAY, YOU HAVE TO LEAD THE SHUT DOWN MECH AND SHOOT AHEAD WHERE HE WILL BE IN 2-3 MINUTES. THERE IS NO SPOON.

WOW THANKS FOR LINKING THAT POST WHERE THEY STATE ITS A TOP PRIORITY, I WAS HOPING TO HAVE SOME NON HORRIBLE NETCODE THAT DOESN'T CAUSE ME TO CUT MYSELF BEFORE 2013 THOUGH.

You do know that programming is such a wide field that there are specialties and people that focus on specific areas with very little knowledge in other areas right? It is almost never good to put a person from one specialty into another. In fact that can often slow down the process.

I just played a game where i alphastiked a jenner in my atlas. His ping was 83ms mine was 67ms. He was shutdown overheated, i was stopped not moving AT ALL 23 meters from him.

I hit him dead center torso with a 65 damage alpha.

It registered ZERO damage.

WTF

A: Do you even know what netcode is...
B: if you do and have some good ideas share them with the devs...

If not just sit down and relax... It is not like you are loosing anything beyond time, and that is self inflicted.

biggest part of my post and the link I gave is that they are indeed aware of the problem... and the part that I bolded and enlarge is that it's got top priority ATM...

don't blame you tho Rifter... and not bashing anyone... just throwing the link for anyone that wants to check the Dev info out... personally, hopefully they'll get it sorted soon as those lights (lookin at you Mr Jenner Pilot... lol...) are some tough mo-knocka's to take down sometimes... lol...

Then what is the point of this thread?

I can't possibly see this thread accomplishing anything outside of wasting a minute or 2 of someones time.

I'm sorry, but this thread lacks any purpose.

Well the thread had two points for me...

A ) I feel better knowing I am not the only one seein ridiculous results like this OP.
B ) Now I don't have to search forums seeing if this isn't already top priority, I assumed it was so but now confirmed.

My only idea would be farm it out, contract more programmers. They have 5 mil from founders alone they have some money to invest in programming of thats what it takes to get the job done.

And honestly since the netcode in DNF is total crap i think waiting for PGI to fix it themselves might take years, so farming it out might be a good idea.

Thing is I wouldn't expect the fixes for things like the net code for a long time.
Its not something you can just throw people at.
This engine it self is really new and Crysis are working on there game atm.
There was an thread about how crysis next project was to work on crysis engine specifically designed for MWO.
God knows how the game will look like then.

I also have a lot of problems with the netcode however I spent my time adapting to it and don't notice it much

so that would fall under the "If not just sit down and relax.." Good to know. Still not sure why you felt it needed a thread on it's own especially as it is part of the known issue thread... But by all means, it is a free world after all. And as rythex said.. it is beta after all.

It's obvious that the OP has forgotten that this game is a work in progress. Sure would be nice if more people would learn to be patient.

I have got very good with the AC20 in my hunch adapting to second long firing delays and leading targets. But when you shoot a unmoving target in a unmoving mech from 23 meters its rather frustrating when you find you did zero damage.

Perhaps they never thought of farming it out, who knows. Sometimes people miss obvious choices, it happens everyday.
