Ill post mine too....

K2

endosteel
double heat shinks
xl255
86.3 kph with speed tweek
30 armor each leg
8 armor each arm
full armor everywhere else
4 medium lasers
2 gauss
60 rounds of gauss
no extra heat sinks =(
no ams =(

gauss does what gauss does

4 med lasers make pesky jenners run, espicially if you can hit a lag shot gauss on them occasionally combined with the laser hits

You can alpha the 4 lasers alot except on caustic

You can brawl pretty well with the lasers and gauss.

good chance you lose a laser at some point bc your arms dont have much armor, but ifthey are taking time to shoot your arms.... you are putting a world of hurt on their CT with 2 gauss and 4 mls

It really doesnt have many downsides.

If you postion well (like with most setups) you can put alot of hurt down range. Then put more hurt on them when they get in MLS range.

Run out of guass? 4 MLS is alot to back it up

I expect after people try this setup I will see ALOT more in game.

HAVE FUN!!

Not a huge fan of these configs (dual gauss, dual AC20s) on Cats. Totally defeats the spirit of the mech itself, and it has the same cheese feel that the 7ERLL Nova Cat did in MW4.

My K2's spirit is hardly ever defeated.

Espically with a team that isnt scared to mix it up so I can stay in optimal range for both 4MLS and 2 Gauss.

Putting 2 gauss cannons on a mech designed to mount 2 PPCs defeats the sprirt of the mech.

Apparnelty I failed to understand the meaning of spirit, because to me, the spirit of the mech is mounting big-*** guns on a catapult.

As a few others here have alluded to, very specialized mechs breed in inherent weaknesses. The amount of 'badass' mechs that go orange on one hit to their legs is always worth a gamble imho. Not to mention the HUGE bonus in salvage if you find and double leg one.

I think too many people have become accustomed to builds where leg armour is pinched in favour of something else. Strangely unlike many other BT games legging isnt quite so common here! Take from that what you will.

I was initially impressed with the speed stated and other armaments but didn't question it. My GaussKat was 48kmph (no lasers) but I only used a Std engine as the Gauss crit and subsequent 'splosion would naturally kill the mech with XL in all torso's wouldnt it? Funny thing was, I found myself running about sans any usable weaponry quite a bit.

edit. 8 Tonnes of ammo was spread about in different places which i wont divulge.

Probably because nearly every mech in the lineup has a vast CT that's impossible to miss. Plus there are only a couple of weapons that give the sort of fast pinpoint damage needed to leg a moving target.

The only thing that is not solid on his set up is its a waste to take 4 medium laser. If You are going to only run with 8 armor on the arms... youre just asking for those 2 medium lasers in the arms to be taken off very quickly.

I agree with that but there are situations where fast pursuit style (light) mechs could manage multiple placed leg hits in quick succession. Also given the lag shield, with almost complete impunity for far too many people. Sadly, I have to hold my hand up and say I've killed many an Assault in a light with tactics not too dissimilar to this but mainly play Cats in non standard form given the limited mech choice.

im not sure what it does at the point. I was asking because I too was told that it was supposed to tweak your speed up to 10%?

In my K2 that is master unlocked with the XL255 it doesn't run 86.3 kph with speed tweak. it goes about 69kph with it. 86.3 kph is the speed with the 300 rating engine.
